Meh Tendulkar looks way better right handed IMO. It is interesting though the 2nd shot he played, because most left handers would cut that ball and not a back foot drive.

Apart from few exceptions . Tall lefties are more elegant. Gilly, Gayle, Yuvi, Gower, Stephen Fleming. Lara is elegant coz of his shuffling and backlift. Jayasuriya, Border, Chanders, Kambli are far from elegant.

in 80s and before lots of batsmen used to have ugly way to batting...when I saw those videos of past and compare them with today's batsmen they look amateur and funny sometimes...and Gower looked better than them so they made him the most elegant batsman then...we can see more elegant batsman than him Stephen Fleming, Lara, Yuvi, Anwar, etc.

The speed has changed. It is not a wait and watch game now days. It has become more attacking. Different shots have been developed. Runs are scored at 5 runs an over even in test cricket now. Batsmen's way of thinking has changed. Now batsmen play to score runs. Batsmen then used to play to save their wickets. I am not talking about only 80s, even before than that. Cricket certainly has improved now.

Nothing stays same over time, may be cricket 50 years back was more orthodox. People will say cricket was orthodox in 2011 50 -60 years later from. It is all about thinking. Things improves with time and that is what I think.
