Dhawan is there just because he is an opener?
Pretty much. Of course, there is the option of opening with Kohli or Rohit since they've both opened before. I'd keep them in the middle order and give Dhawan another chance after his duck against Australia.

parthiv rohit kohli yuvi raina badri pathan dont like him but harbhajan pkumar munaf ashwin
MY Eleven are Parthiv Patel Kohli Rohit sharma Suresh raina Manoj tiwary aka Choto dada of bengal ahead of dhawan and Badrinath pathan ishant praveen Kumar Vinay Kumar Ashwin Harbhajan this is a very Impressive eleven ..bcos it is filled with some part time all rounders... 20-20 is a game for All rounders , if they click then nothing like it. shikhar dhawan and Badri can replace guys who fail out of the Above batsmen. praveen /vinay/ashwin and bhajji are part time all rounders .. only ishant is a full time bowler. parthiv is a batsmen who tries to Keep and he can play the role of sheet anchor. raina /kohli/tiwary/pathan and rohit r aggressive batsmen and any of them can slow down n play a support ininings when required. i would ask tiwary/rohit or kohli to open who ever is in the best form in nets. in Bolwing... i would wanna give the new ball to Praveen Kumar and THE LAMBU..Ishant. I have great hope from ISHANT sharma and he should Suceed. I prefer to select vinay Kumar ahead of Munaf as VInay is 6 on 10 as a bowler where as Munaf may be 7 on 10 as a bowler but as a fielder Vinay is 8/10 and as a batsmen vinay is 4/10...where as Munaf is 1/10 as a fielder and a 0/10 as a batsmen. so Munaf adds to 8/30 where as Vinay counts to 18/30.. so as an all rounder Vinay Kumar is far far better and in t 20's Good fielding and saving just 4 to 6 runs can also count a lot. i feel if i ask Vinay to field for 20 overs ahead of Munaf i will save atleast 4 to 6 runs more...and as a batsmen if vinay gets a chence he can score 4 to 6 runs for sure...so Vinay is 12 runs ahead of munaf. as a bowler Munaf may give just 2 to 3 runs less than Vinay.. i mean munaf is just a shade better than Vinay Kumar and Hence Vinay should be played ahead of Munaf Patel. Vinay and Praveen are very smart and shrewd Bowlers vinay has a slow bouncer and local Pundits rank Vinay Kumar as a wicket taker bowler. truly Speaking I would have preferred to play Varun Arooon ahead of Vinay. Varun Arron coming along with Ishant and Praveen in the Pace Attack would be deadly as Varun and ishant wud be 140 to 145K bowlers and praveen is a shrewd Bowler. I am a Batsmen and all batsmen fear tall fast bowlers -as these tall guys can get surprising BOUNCE ...Ishant and varun bowl fast bouncers which are the toughest balls for batsmen.

probably will be the squad though i have one issue with this Bhajji, Ashwin, Raina, Rohit, Pathan are all Offspinners :omg: they have to get in Mishra somehow. Bhajji cannot be dropped as he is Vice Captain and Ashwin is the best T20 spinner in India

Kohli was our opener in the t20 against SA. The t20 line up- Kohli, Parthiv, Rohit, Raina, Badri,Tiwary, Yusuf, Ashwin, PK, Ishant, Munaf ODIs- Dhawan, Parthiv, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Badri/Tiwary, Yusuf, Bhajji, Ashwin, PK, Ishant, Munaf Bhajji should not be playing the t20. And in ODIs should be rested for the last 2 ODIs giving Mishra a spot in the 11.

Just looking at the squad for over LoI leg of the Windies tour and it looks like this; Limited-overs squad: Suresh Raina (capt), R Ashwin, S Badrinath, Harbhajan Singh (vc), Virat Kohli, Praveen Kumar, Amit Mishra, Munaf Patel, Parthiv Patel (wk), Yusuf Pathan, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, Vinay Kumar, Manoj Tiwary, Shikhar Dhawan. Wonder what the line-up is going to be... My provisional XI; Parthiv Dhawan(?) Kohli Rohit Raina/Badri (or) Tiwary Badri (or) Tiwary) /Raina Yusuf Bhajji Praveen Aswhin Munaf A few points of contentions; Where are the openers in the squad? They seemed to have picked only one specialist opener in the entire squad, which pretty much guarantees the selection of Dhawan in the XI (and that’s weird because I didn’t even think this guy was in contention for a national spot recently and it was not like he set the whole IPL on fire). . That leaves us with Parthiv as the other opener, which means Saha probably misses out. Kohli slots in his usual position of 3, while its probably going to be Rohit at 4. There’s probably going to be a tussle b/w Tiwary and Badri for the last remaining middle order slot, but I expect Badri to take that place. Ashwin pips Mishra for the 2nd spinner slot while the slower pitches in Windies means that Munaf and Kumar occupy the 2 seamers slots and Ishant misses out.
The captain himself is not a sureshot in your XI?..

Couple of things; Bhajji is certainly going to play in the T20s. And there are 12 players in ODI line-up. :dontknow:

No, not at all. I wanted represent that its either going to be Raina at no.5 and Badri/Tiwary at no.6 or Badri/Tiwary at no.5 and Raina at no.6.

I am glad Dhawan has been given opportunity. He played one ODI against Aussies and got injured. He needs to be tried for atleast 10 ODIs. Dhawan Parthiv Kohli Badrinath Raina Tiwary Yusuf Pathan Bhajji Ashwin Munaf Praveen Kumar

lets keep Rohit out of XI so he knows indian cap is very hard to get. He had so many chances.
Agree completely but unfortunately I see him making the team ahead of Tiwary

I think he deserves a slot ahead of Tiwary. Probably achieved a bit more domestically and shown he can play at Intl level. Dhawan PP Kohli Badri Rohit Raina Yusuf Praveen Bhajj Ishant Vinay Would be my team... With Munaf coming in for Ishant and Bhajj being rested for Mishra as the series goes on. If Tiwary does play it should be instead of Kohli. Id even suggest Raina sit out at least one ODI and Harbhajan lead...in an ideal world..as both VK and SR are in the test squad too and could do with some time off

Just get the feeling that the batting is slightly under-powered for ODIs/T20s. Apart from Yusuf and maybe Raina, there are no real power-hitters in the team. Dhawan is more a touch player than a hitter, Parthiv can hardly lift the bat. Badri is more like a test middle order bat who took the wrong train and came to the ODIs and Kohli relies more on timing and placement than on power. Rohit is probably somewhere in between. With both Dhoni and UV missing out, the batting is suffering from a deficit of brute force. We may struggle to score if the pitches are slightly on the slower side, which has been the case in the Windies recently.
In WI one or two power hitters r enuf................The nature of tracks is such that grafters are more important.........a score of 250-260 is as good as 300 there..............lets see if they actually perform....the talent is surely there
