saneindian Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Well done Badri. Glad to see him succeed. He should bat at number 4 in the ODIs. His vast domestic experience of playing on sluggish tracks could come in handy looking at the carribean pitches.
gaurav92 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 WTF was Rohit doing at No.6 He should have been sent in at no.4,5 before Raina. But anyways, hope he bats at 4,5 in the ODI Series.
Hindustani Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 with current form, Badri > RS Though a healthy competition is good among these, though RS do look like he is a slow learner
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 discussion over. mods please lock this thread. :))
vvvslaxman Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 As everyone feels if he wastes an opportunity against a weak Windies team, i don't know what he is going to do against better sides. There is no excuse for failures against this team.
WC2011INDIA Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Badri is a good cricketer and solid fielder, but I don't think he will be very successful in his international cricketing career. I look at him and he seems someone who is destined to not play much for India. The less said about Rohit, the better. Anyways, I hope both perform well in the WI tour. :hatsoff:
sarcastic Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 with current form' date=' [b']Badri > RS Though a healthy competition is good among these, though RS do look like he is a slow learner Not completely true but you never know. We have to wait for two more matches and see where do Badri and Rohit stand beside each other!!!! Rohit is talented but Badri has the temperament to succeed much more than the former. True he wasted couple of opportunities, let us see if he can turn the tide back!!!!!
phaedrus Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 if Badri has a bad tour, he cant blame anyone but himself for not making it to the team ever again. Chances like this almost never come for a middle order bat in India(especially in the past decade or so). come on Badri, pull up your socks and make it count :cheer:
vvvslaxman Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 if Badri has a bad tour' date= he cant blame anyone but himself for not making it to the team ever again. Chances like this almost never come for a middle order bat in India(especially in the past decade or so). come on Badri, pull up your socks and make it count :cheer: This will almost certainly be his last chance. There are lot of advantages Badri got in this tour 1) He came in with a good form in domestic cricket and IPL 2) There is no pressure of playing alongisde bigger names like Sachin, Viru, Gauti, Yuvi, Dhoni 3) Captain is his IPL mate so there is not going to be pressure 4) Crappy west indian side 5) Pitches are very much similar to Indian slow turners. 6) Thanks to "Mr.Dhiwan" and KOhli's couple of failures he almost got 4/5th of over to bat. 7) No crowd pressure It is a perfect place to deliver. He is still struggling . He has 2 more matches to make up for it.
achilles Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 The lack of fancy stroke-play and bowling is going to dent Badri's case. C'mon yaar Badri.
Cricket Tragic Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Yeah, no contest so far but we've still got 2 games. Let's wait till the end of the series.
vvvslaxman Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 He has to play one of those big innings. Fact that Rohit is not even good enough to tie shoe laces of guys like Gauti, Viru, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Dhoni in one dayers , makes Badri's case much weaker. If you can't outperform someone like Rohit how the heck he is going to match the others. In that respect Kohli and Raina always stood out. With or without seniors they delivered.
Karan114 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 All is not lost for Badri just yet, he has two more ODIs and if he does well in those, he can possibly get into the first Test XI next week too. But he simply has to make the runs tomorrow and in the final ODI.
Karan114 Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Dreadful innings from Badri today - desperately needed a score but he hasn't been good enough.
Temujin Khaghan Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 BADrinath is doing full justice to the first 3 alphabets in his name. :p^inf. all his supporters please find a well and jump. :D
Sid Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cant play pace, difference between his and Rohit's class is humungous.
vvvslaxman Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Cant play pace' date=' difference between his and Rohit's class is humungous.[/quote'] Yea. He was not even gutsing it out. That is just not on.
Sid Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Yea. He was not even gutsing it out. That is just not on. Hugely disappointed with him, thought he would be a star in this series but seems he is just not good enough for intl. level.
