Could there be any truth in the Gandhis (Rajiv & Sonia) having huge lot nof amount stashed in Swiss banks? There was also some talk about Sonia and her 2 sisters buying substantial lands recently..

This is an old article, linked to this is the declassified information that the source of this money was the Soviet Union. The old KGB records are pretty damning. Why do you think the book called the "Mitrokhin Archives" got stifled in India although not officially banned?

Now I can understand why Congress is not keen on this black money issue. But BJP and NDA had chance to do something about it doung their rule. Atal Bihari completely screwed up his prime ministership..In his zeal to earn browney points he didn't persued on many of these cases..What a waste. Atleast a 3rd front sould come to power and try to clean up the mess. But then again who are in 3rd front? Devegowda, Lalu, Mulayam, Paswan, Ajit Singh + Left (who are already already struggling). Now I know what Sonia meant by her, "Natural Ruling Party" call to Congressmen..

I'm no expert on commerce and foreign currency, but 2.5 million = 25 lakh 1 billion = 100 crores So, in a span of 20 years, the 2.5million $ value increased 400 times? Did the Dollar appreciate so much? Or did they convert the money to estate or blue chip shares? Even then increase by a factor of 400 seems too much. Your estimate seems off target to me. :hmmm:

So you can only imagine what people like Sharad Pawar and the Gandhi family must have made in 2-3 decades.
