Dhoni slams Harper for poor decisions

Three key obstacles for universal usage: 1) Costs 2) Military Technology from Australia (Only UK/NZ have Defence tech agreement in place, to use unrestricted). 3) Due to no. 2, a host country can't have it more than 2 weeks or something. It was on demo in India in the CL09 for 10 days.
Hot Spot is available for the series in England. Why not use only that along with the mat and leave Hawkeye out?

Also I think if UDRS is fully implemented, then get rid of all this nonsense of pitching leg or outside off! It Hawkeye shows ball hitting stump regardless of where it pitches then it should be OUT!. If we are all so confident with UDRS then we should fully utilize it, or don't use at all.

Whats the point of using it in one series and then refusing it again in the next? Let ICC make hot spot available to every broadcaster. I'm sure, BCCI will agree to DRS that day.

UDRS purpose to eliminate/minimize umpires mistake. Dhoni is opposed to UDRS. So STFU. Deal with it...& stop making comments like we dont want this or that umpire. Stop putting pressure on them. BTW...Indian players specially should have their ears checked out also. They didnt appeal for catch in this Test when there was clear edge.

Dhoni doesn't say much except few words. I think he just answered a question thrown at him. Rest of the things are masala story. UDRS or no UDRS there are some fundamental errors committed by Harper again and again and again. Even with UDRS he can spoil chances of a team as there are only 3 reviews allowed. Let us not all jump on Dhoni for making a statement that has been echoed by all sundries for a while. I am glad Harper is not going to officiate on the ground anymore after this series.

Do you even know the rules? Its when pitches outside your leg stump, it cannot be given, thats very logical, its negative line and you are most likely to miss the ball. so that rules is very logical. otherwise teams won't even score 100 runs in an innings. There is no such rule ball pitches outside the offstump. Its not pitching, its impact. thats also logical, otherwise there is no way to play inswinging or incutters. First learn the rules.

This is classic case of trying to put the fire in a nearby bush, when your entire house is burning down at the same time. Why has the discussion so far been almost entirely on the sporadic comment that Dhoni made (and all the masala quotes were were conjured from thin air), when it should be about that pathetic excuse of an umpire Daryl Harper? I am amazed, how is that guy still an umpire? That guy has been screwing up his job not just this season, not just the previous 2 seasons, but many years now and incredibly, his name managed to find a place in the ICC ‘Elite’ umpires list. How is this even possible? :dontknow: Cant the ICC see what is going on? Or don’t they care? Have all the captains’ reports about the umpires been simply binned? If you really want to know how bad an umpire Harper is, you really need to watch an EPIC outburst by the surprisingly interested Bob Willis, on Youtube. It is actually quite hilarious!

i guess dhoni is pissed off with the way umpires were treating praveen kumar so he is taking a dig at them for those wrong decision

My bad on the offside impact. On pitching legside, makes sense when umpire has to make decision, but... If Hawkeye can predict the path of ball so well, then whats stopping using it's predictive path if pitches ball outside leg. Umpires crackdown on continuous negative line in Tests by giving it wide, it doesn't take a rocket science when this occurs. The rules are there to reduce human errors, but Hawkeye will tell you if it misses or not. If Mishra or Bishoo pitches it leg and hawkeye says it's hitting the stumps then give it out. Umpires can continue saying not out and signal wide, but captains should be able to challenge it if players think it's hitting the stumps.

LOL that rule was never because umpires can't figure out what will hit and what will not. Thats funny..I guess you haven't played cricket. If they change this rule you will left handers getting LBW by right armers over the wicket, they can just pitch outside leg and with leg field. Thats negative bowling buddy. Same thing with spinners. Teams won't score 100 runs in an innings.

You don't have the right to slam anybody after you yourself did not want the UDRS involved in the test. Dhoni and the older generation needs to STFU and be quiet.

Dhoni can't really complain about it now. I mean he has been one of the few Indian players who don't agree with DRS. I mean there'll be howlers in most games, thats why DRS is there. Sooner they accept the better its for us.

dhoni just crying because he scored no runs
Feel sorry for a Pakistani troll who needs an English background to fight it out against Indians. :hysterical:

What are you talking about "negative" bowling because they can pitch leg and get left handers out, it's the easiest shot to play in cricket, anything on leg. It's simple, ball pitches leg, if hawkeye says it hits stump then give it out. Umpires can punish the line if ball misses everything by giving wide, like in ODIs, it's not too difficult to comprehend this. If Hawkeye is so reliable, then what's stopping it mitigating against this silly rule of anything pitching legside should be given not out even when hitting stumps. Isn't this the fundamental rule to hit wicket? despite your concerns "oh teams won't score 100 runs in an innings", like batsmen have it hard these days. Game will evolve, and playing shots will evolve.
