Munaf or Mithun for England Tests

Is this poll a joke. Mithun is tragic. I bet Fletcher cant believe this joker has been picked, I seriously dont think selectors watch players sometimes and just look at stats.

Munaf Patel over Mithun but I'm not a fan of his bowling either. He doesnt seem to have the fitness to bowl 20 overs in a day nor does he have the pace to trouble the batsmen. A word about Mithun, he doesnt seem to have any attitude or hunger in his run up or delivery stride. Just run in and bowl medium pace around the off stump without any swing. Good batsmen will play him with ease all day long. He can be a good 5th bowling option in ODIs but I cant see him a strike bowler in Tests. Sreenath Aravind seems to be a good prospect. Similar to Zaheer Khan.

^ Exactly I mean Vinny Kumar. Other teams obseesed with pace , while our selctors are obssessed with bowler who cant go over 80mph. I mean Unadkat was another, I mean if selectors had watched him , then no way could be selected. RP is a must for example. Ignore stats, looked good in IPL, give him the chance and he will put effort in and deliver. Way better then trundlers that keep getting picked

No bowler in India has pace though, Varun aside and he is at least one season away from International cricket. In fact Mithun was supposedly one of our nippier domestic prospects. Vinay was ok in the IPL and is one of the most consistent domestic bowlers. I have not watch his Intl performances, from what Ive followed though he had a fairly economical spell before being smashed around in the death in both his last two matches Unadkats selection was a farce seeing that he was an 18 yr old who had about 10 FC matches under his belt at that point- if that. Weve been here before with RPS, selecting him on the basis of the IPL but he did not do much when truning out for India. In short it should be a 17 man squad- pacers Zaheer, Ishant, Sree pick themselves for the XI, PK and Munaf backup. And that is ok. Im sure Munaf is fitter now than he was before, did he not have a decent Ranji trohpy before he mad the India ODI squads and there it is all about bowling long spells on flat beds in the heat.

Sree is a must. Else we may as well forfeit the series. Munaf can't stay fit for the duration of a tests. The fact that Mithun even saw the Indian jersey at a close range is a damn shame. RP is finished as is Irfan. We may as well go with 2 spinners irrespective of the conditions.

Munaf has been picked over Mithun, Sreesanth has been retained and Umesh Yadav and Varun Aaron have not been picked. Thread Closed...

I agree ...Mithun is not worth it and still he has played for india in a TEST is thanks to Munaf"s Fitness issue"s. I am surprised that he is picked...do u think any one of us can say with confidence that he will remain FIT for 5 days of a Test Match even if he is 100 percent fit on the first day. Did he got a hit in the first test that he got unfit or can Anybody give me a reason how he got unfit. VVS weak Back is still stronger then Munaf.

Umesh yadav shud have been picked ahead of Munaf and if selectors were bold they shud have picked Varun. MunAf has no future as a test bowler so he shudnt be picked.
