urbestfriend Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 MTC is right.. Thats the beauty of our religion...Hinduism says there is god in everything and everyone so u can pray to anyone... :hysterical: You have misunderstood bro..Advaitism ( a philosophical concept proposed by Adi shankara) says "aham brahmasmi" which means we're all part of brahman...It doesn't mean we start worshiping every tom, dick and harry as god..Funny that anything and everything these days goes with hinduism nowadays.

Living people are indeed being worshiped. Every self proclaimed godman has a few worshipers. Then it gets worse. In India, there are temples for a huge number of actors and actresses including Mandakini, Naghma etc. So yeah, it's nothing new in India. Idiotic, ignorant, but it happens on a very large scale.
The Outsider Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Why do people have a problem if someone considers Tendulkar etc. as Gods and wants to build temples? It's another thing that all temples are a waste of money, but surely if there is no problem to have one for a guy whose existence cannot be proved, then there is a better claim to have one for someone whose existence can at least is not under any dispute.

EnterTheVoid Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 These same idiots will probably pelt those statues with stones when India does poorly.

Are you saying that they are building these temples because they consider Sachin or Dhoni as God? :hysterical: They are just making mockery of Hinduism by such acts just to get few sound-bytes.

Who are you or anyone else to judge someone's faith and belief?
DomainK Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Who are you or anyone else to judge someone's faith and belief? One should express disagreement and no more indeed.
