Cricket Tragic Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Sehwag won't be fit for the series similar to the T20 Cup in 2009 - he will be part of the squad but will not play. :hmmmm2: How are you so confident about it?
Ultimate_Game Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 :hmmmm2: How are you so confident about it? He's already out for the first 1 or 2 tests and is being taken to England in the hope that he's fit for the remainder of the series. I am just saying from the T20 Cup experience as the same thing happened in 2009. Also, shoulder injuries take a lot of time to heal especially if it's a recurring injury. Best thing would have been to let Sehwag recover away from the team so that he doesn't detract the team and is fit for the Aus series later in the year.
cowboysfan Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 viru will play in the 3rd test after getting some batting practice in the tour game.

Pagalpanti Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 I wouldn't under-rate them. I hope its a closely fought series like Ind v SA.

Yoda-esque Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Just survive the first test.Play defensively in it and occupy the crease. Once thats out of the way,the series is tilted in India's favor surely ? As good as England as supposed to be,I didnt see anything that is exceptional about them. Tremlett is good but not great for sure. Our batsmen should be able to handle him.

BeautifulGame Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 The first test will be drawn because of rain looking at their weather forecasts.Wont even be surprised if majority of the tour is disrupted by rain just like Srl series
mishra Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Tendulkar is allready there. To me it clearly indicates Indians are not taking the English side a walk in the park. Bowling is very much condition dependent, Speciailly Anderson. If its overcast condition English bowlers have ability to rip through defences of any batting line up. Tremlett has become a lot more effective bowler.... Despite all chest thumping, I know when Botham is claiming English is going to whitewas India, I know where the confidence is coming from. Make no mistake. Cook,Trott,KP are going to score big. Tremlett and Anderson are going to take a lot of wickets next series. They are damn good Test match side.. Not sure about Pinku Swan though... He is talking too much...
phaedrus Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 nothing to fear, but lots to be worried about. They are a damn good side and if india has to win, they have to be at their best. The last time they met a quality side, they hung on for a drawn series in South Africa. We have upped our game when we have played in england, expect them to do it again this time too
DomainK Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Don't underestimate the English bowlers. They are dangerous when given the right supply of jelly beans.
