So he tries to get his son to play atleast one international match. Have you heard anything about N Srinivasan? Do you know who he is? Do you know what he's going to be in future? This selection has N Sini's stamp of approval..Nobody can do anything, unless UPA or Jayalalithaa intervenes..

jairamesh Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 I am pretty sure the aim is to somehow hand Anirudha an India cap in some meaningless ODI/T20 so he can be eligible for the IPL auction. But considering the likely scenario where he will disappoint in the Emerging Tournament in Australia, will he still get picked for the ODI and T20 squad for the Australia tour? If that does happen, then Srikkanth is getting away with murder. But I do have hope, that with Dhoni and Duncan Fletcher won't allow this to happen. On another note, the likes of Dhoni and Duncan Fletcher should be consulted regarding the selection of the Emerging Squad to address the needs of the national team.

It is a clear case of Srikkanth asking to select his son .. he is the one who initiated it cos he is in a powerful position .. It doesn't matter if he took srinivasan help in this or not .. Bottom line is he selected his own son .. he misused his position .. Media as usual showing its 1 yr of Dhoni's wedding ... Pathetic media we have here ... Not even one channel showed tht barkha butt phone recording .. How can we expect them to show this ..

With great power, comes great responsibility and in developing nations like India you cant expect many people to understand this. Forget India, in developed nations also it is not uncommon. Only thing I hope is that the people expressing disgust on this (and such) news, implement these values in their lives.

We have objection. But with this auction rule in IPL more and more useless players will try to find a spot in the international side. Cheeka Jr is just a start. Nobody is going to stop it. So this is the next best option. Sending all these noobs against an useless international side.

Another dubious example of selection seems to have been added to the long list with Anirudha Srikkanth, son of chairman of selectors K Srikkanth, being named in the 15-member India 'A' team for the Emerging Players Tournament that starts in Australia on August 1. Compared to the other names in the team, the 25-year-old Anirudha had an ordinary domestic season. It seems to be the first blatant goof-up from the first paid panel of selectors. Srikkanth remained unavailable for comment, but a selector claimed that it was the father who had proposed Anirudha's name. "Once the chief selector proposed Anirudha's name, there was no way any of us could have countered it. It had to be a unanimous selection," a selector said, preferring anonymity. Even though the hard-hitting batsman was good in patches during the domestic one-dayers, domestic Twenty20 and the Indian Premier League, he was inconsistent during the Ranji Trophy. In fact, Anirudha could not find a place in Tamil Nadu's eleven for three of their nine Ranji games last season. Still, he was chosen for the tournament that features three-day matches against the fringe players from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. But players being pushed into 'A' sides is not new in Indian cricket. In the last four years, this is the third such instance.
