They would too scared to declare they would play 60 overs and will declare with 450 plus A defeat that owed a lot to a blazing Sehwag start, before the calm partnership between Sachin and Yuvraj. The Sehwag factor is absent, the defeat won't haunt them...

I don't know why they would concern themselves with that match at all.

Ram Posted July 23, 2011 Posted July 23, 2011 From England's perspective, if there's one guy I'd be worried about in the 2nd innings, its Gautam Gambhir. Unlike most players, Gambhir lifts his game a couple of notches when the pressure is really on. There's no way you're going to see him play that lazy stroke that got him in the 1st innings, in the 2nd innings. With no Sehwag, we need Gautam to step up to the plat one more time and save our bacon. Our lower order has little to no chance in these swinging conditions against these talented, in form English pacers.

I think if they bat close to 60 overs they will have a lead close to 400 which means they need to score like 3.3 per over and that is certainly not a huge deal no matter what the dartster does. At this point I am looking for little bit of a rain and some grind from our batsman to get out of this. And one more thing pack Zaheer Khan's bags and ship him to India at the earliest. What a disaster it has been.

Gambhir and Dravid will drop anchor. The only way we could chase a big total is if Mukund plays a Sehwag style innings which is v unlikely.

Hmm..[/quote'] Yeah, probably England's team ran up some numbers on stats guru like you when they declared at Chennai before Sehwag smashed them to bits - oh the predictive power of stats guru! :(( Last I heard, the English team had sued stats guru and cricinfo for making them lose the Chennai test.
