I wonder what views the moderators of this forum have with padosi posters who come to this forum only to rile up Indians. This bloke has been crapping all over the forum and if the Mods donot do something about this this is going to be an ugly free for all.

No but seriously go look at how many games where it meant something going into late 4th or 5th days Sehwag had an impact and compare that with VVS or SRT or GG or even RD in the last 3 years and you will see for yourself outside of just crunching in numbers which I do not support anyway. Plus any which way you look at a mere 30 average in the second team innings is not something worthy of a batsman to be branded great IMO and I wholeheartedly want Sehwag to corrrect that and up the ante before his career is over.

The point is that the opposition captain will not pull out these second innings stats while making a declaration, but will go on what Sehwag is capable of doing on his day. He is not going to hedge his bets on running some stats guru queries, the latest example being the Cape Town test where Smith delayed the declaration despite Sehwag having a poor series.

Only rain can save us now. With Zak down and out, I think they will target both Bhajji and Ishant as only PK looked like taking wickets. They will declare today at tea after getting a lead of 420, that will be very tough to get. We are in no man's land without Sehwag. We can't chase that score and if we try and defend, we will lose our wickets, so its better if it rains and saves another game for us as it did in '07

But then most of the captains will take the safety first approach which is justified given how big the stakes are.

I still don't think our batting performance was that bad. If you saw, ball was swinging all day. Other lesser teams would have folded under 200. We could have scored 20-30 runs more had Dhoni taken some iniative when Trott and Swann were bowling before the 2nd new ball. Those 30 extra runs means 6 to 7 overs of difference for us in 2nd dig. I was really pI$$ed with the approach before the 2nd new ball. We would have to face 110 overs. If there is cloud cover will be very very hard to save this one. If no cloud cover, we would save this easily. Remember pitch doesn't crumble at Lords, its always overhead conditions.

In 2nd innings, Sachin should not look to score at all. Lords voodoo doesnt allow him to cross thirties. Get into 20 and just don't score Sachin and that way he will survive. It was good effort from Sachin if he was down with fever. I think Tremlett unsettled him. Hope he comes out with better plan against Tremlett

^I don't think England would have enforced it as their bowlers had already bowled 80+ overs. But I must abysmal thinking on the part of Dhoni and Dravid not to attack part timers.
