Many of our players don't have character to slug it out in test match cricket, so these collapses will happen. When your captain himself is a ODI basher and not having temperament then how you would expect a tail to survive...

Dhoni's shot was appalling, no doubt. He may not have the technique for these conditions, but he's a better batsman than this, even in these conditions - he scored runs in his last tour of England. The only possible explanation is that he prolly came in with the mindset that he wont survive here playing defensive cricket. He may have come in thinking i should play shots. He did play an airy shot the prev over that went for four. But he is an intelligent cricketer, he will learn from this. He is short on confidence for sure, that shows in his poor day behind the stumps.

Dhoni chances his luck and survives in these conditions. The same thing happened in SA as well, several times he was made to look a fool by Morkel and Steyn but survived with great bit of luck. Can anyone in their hearts get confidence when he plays in these conditions. At least to me, he plays like can get out anytime. ONLY a ODI basher and sub-continent/flat track player where there is no lateral movement. On top of that a pretty average wicket keeper.

Actually, he could've shut all of us.. The whole day we were following Dravids epic battle with help of VVS and UV. The moment M came, we knew that he won't survive. Why? Because he has become very egoistic, inflexible and adamant. He doesn't adapts.. And we knew he wont survive few overs as egoistic M will try to go 'hard' on every deliveries.. I am disappointed with Dhoni's batting today but then again I expect him to have a good run with the bat soon like he had after 2007 world cup in odi's. Yes, poor shot selection today but well, not only him. Sucks to see hardwork put in by Yuvi-Laxman and offcourse Dravid ended the way it did. But well, we can't do anything about that rite now. Just come back strong, most likely everyone will get to bat again one more time in this match and they should make up for it. COME ON INDIA.

In Dhoni's case, i don't think form is an issue.. It's rank poor technique and appaling irresponsibility..

He played a bad shot , he will be ashamed , he needs to be criticized but saying he is nothing but a t-20 slogger or minnow-basher is harsh and untrue , he is one excellent player of spin bowling and we need that in sub-continent. I am sure he will leave these failures behind and bounce back.
