Midfielder Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Not really. They have a good batting line up which is clicking all together well rite now with their bowlers. One tour to Sri Lanka, or even in Abu Dhabi where they play against Pakistna might be tough one for them. I won't say it's easy to consistently perform at home, but it's definately not hard to lose your consistency as a team performance when you start touring different places. They also had a good prep up for this series whereas Inida's was half cooked.
Dravid Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Doesn't matter. The match will end tomorrow. wanna bet your crappy 16 million on that?
Cricketics Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 They also had a good prep up for this series whereas Inida's was half cooked. They did, but so did we. I think our greats got enough rest, and they had enough time to work out too. We had decent preparation going into this series. Most of the players toured Windies land and were in rhythm, and players like Tendulkar had already arrived in England before the start of even Wimbledon.
Jersey #10 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I don't want the rain to help us. I know India has the line up to chase anything anywhere but only if everyone puts their hearts and souls for it.
Cricketics Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Decreases our chance of chasing and gives them more relief that "only one team can win because of the time left in the game" which is true. I rather have the whole game played than rain interfering.

Cricketics Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Can Yuvra/Raina be trusted as spinner option?? To early to say, but if Zaheer, Sehwag, and Gambhir all return, it will be a problem for us to select the 11. Harbhajan most likely will be dropped and should be. So if we don't play Mishra, we can easily play all ZAK, SEHWAG AND GAMBHIR. Zak can replace Sreesanth. No way we are dropping PK or Ishant. and if Raina/Yuvi can do some decent spin. It will help us out and we can pick this following team SEHWAG GAMBHIR DRAVID TENDULKAR LAXMAN YUVRAJ RAINA DHONI ZAHEER ISHANT PRAVEEN
Desi Cartman Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 so basically you are suggesting we play with 3 bowlers ? I would vote for it if the 4th bowler is bhajji :cantstop: else I would get in Mishra or some other spinner
zen Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 what's happening to ICF, after PK being the new kid on the block for seamers, now we have Raina/YUVI being portrayed as viable spin options  .... If this continues people would stop rating even our bowling in tests What's needed is to look for a better spinner/bowler than Bhajji, and not playing 3 bowlers and making part-timers bowl in tests let's not forget, if Ind loses/draws the 2nd test, it will have to pick up 40 wkts to draw/win the series
WC2011INDIA Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 They need Ashwin in the team ASAP. But then again Ashwin bowling in WI was mediocre.
gaurav92 Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 LOL we should be practical. A team that hasn't gone past 300 even once in this series is talking about chasing down 450-500 in 5 sessions? Come on guys, its gone, I would prefer rain all day than losing the game. It is impossible to chase that down seriously. But if they manage to do so, I will be very surprised.
Cricketics Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I am a big Mishra fan. Just wanted to get views here. People were asking for 4 seam attack. Always loved and wanted Mishra to somehow make it to the team. I would personally back him and pick him.
zen Posted August 1, 2011 Author Posted August 1, 2011 If Ind draws 2nd test: Zak, Sree and Ishant, along w/ PK or Munaf or Mishra If Ind loses 2nd tests, may be even go w/ 5 bowlers :dontknow: to pick 40 wkts, i.e. Zak, Sree and Ishant, one of PK or Munaf, and Mishra
suraj Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 India blew this match themselves. Erasmus played a part too as Harbhajan could have potentially added 15-20 runs or more had he not had a howler. However' date=' 90% of the blame must be attributed to India for failing at crucial points of the game.[/quote'] Exactly- letting England get to 200+ after having them on the mat in 1st innings collapse when batting & a very bad collapse too 2nd inning bowling was just not able to get going at all
suraj Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 I am always a pessimist but for kicks I'll say India will chase 500 to win
Rahul Dravid Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 500. 150 Dravid 100 Sachin 100 VVS 80 Yuvi 80 raina 20 others HEY WE CAN WIN !!! lol... but in reality we will fall well short... from 120-8 was it 1st innings england.. to this stage... very very dissappointed.
Midfielder Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 If Harbhajan is not there it should be Mishra.
Midfielder Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 No confidence in the players so this is a tall order.
