400+ runs scored in a day...how often that has been done? Can anyone come up with the stats as to how many times it has been done in the history of test cricket? If somebody can post some sort of stats regarding the question, that will be great. Thanks Ponka!

I must credit the english with one particular stratagem: In the past, save for the one instance in New Zealand, India have never saved a test match by batting out the overs, they have however, chased down some hefty totals in the 300 plus range. However, the english in the previous test batted for long enough such that the remaining overs were much too few to chase the target, leaving us with the objective of saving the game, thus putting us on the backfoot. a move that did not work out very well for us. I wont be too surprised if they batted till well past lunch today to post a mammoth total and leave us with some 400 odd in some 100-120 overs, a task virtually impossible. Thus, in an attempt to save the test i expect us to collapse like a deck of cards. 180-200 odd is my guess.

It was one of the WORST sundays of my life......
You must feel very happy. If this was (one of) the worst Sunday of your life, then life has been extremely kind to you thus far.

Rain for day 5. But then will India last for Day 4????
Well, they've lasted 90 overs on average in this series, so they might make it. Depends on how much they can rouse themselves to at least show some fight. Mentally, day 3 was so deflating...

Dravid can't keep fighting it out. He is due a low score sooner or later. Tendulkar must step up to the plate here, Mukund and Dhoni also need to tough it out. Hopefully the pitch stays as it was yesterday but i cannot see that happening.

If we can bat a 4 sessions and rain intervenes it is possible to draw. If Zak & Gambhir come back next match we can hit back hard. Yes things look hopeless now. Even if we lose this match , if management takes corrective measures like dropping the passengers then there is still hope for this team.

The key is "corrective measures"..There are lessons to be learnt in this series. Lessons were not learnt in the last series in Caribbean. If you don't learn your lessons, you'll keep on failing.. I remember we were very apprehensive about the schedule, fitness, bowlers (Bhajan etc.) forms etc right during the Caribben series and we were speculating about a disaster series in England.. Exactly that is happening. So we were not far off with our speculations and assesments.. It's only that the Team management and more importantly BCCI needs to learn lessons. Their stock will ofcourse dip after this series and hope that'll help in igniting some fire in some saggy bellies..

I am positive if we can drop the passengers , we will be contenders for the Top spot again. Dhoni & Harbhajan have to go. But does the Indian Cricket Establishment have the courage to do this ?
