Andy Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 I dont think the lesser skilled player outperforms a more skill player consistently but what happens is that someone is dead cold and he could take sometime to come back or someone has a hot hand and can be persisted with. Those are my thoughts and I have nothing to back that up in cricket because the game is not so evolved compared to other sports unfortunately. More later as I have to go. Never said they do consistently, But the Probability is more in Football than in Cricket.
Midfielder Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 In football you are allowed subs maybe that plays a part, no way of knowing that though.
deepak_sach Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 If I was coach fletcher I would get the hell out of india and go in the next flight to Zimbabwe and be with Sir John for the rest of my life...
Midfielder Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Let us give him some time before forming a firm opinion.
Midfielder Posted August 7, 2011 Author Posted August 7, 2011 Sometimes it is good to shake a tree, no one knows what might fall. I am not arguing that these are not good players, they are the best . They are just not in it right now.
deepak_sach Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Sometimes it is good to shake a tree' date=' no one knows what might fall. I am not arguing that these are not good players, they are the best . They are just not in it right now.[/quote'] You have to see what tree it is first....:haha:
vvvslaxman Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Sit Tendulkar out.. ... thank god you are not fletcher.
Jayaram_IND Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Dont know how much coach can contribute except maybe pass on usefull tips on certain aspects of batting and bowling. Its up to the players to practice hard, work on their technique and deliver.
Brainfade Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 I would sit Dhoni' date=' Zak and Tendulkar for the next match. Not that they are bad but they are woefully out of form. This would definitely help the team. Saha for Dhoni, Sree for Zak and Mukund for Tenulkar.[/quote'] This ain't the NFL or NBA where the "Coach" has the authority to start/bench players. The coach's job here is to just keep the dressing room environment conducive to success, give the players confidence, and provide timely strategic/tactical input. Fletcher's abilities in this regard are being tested to the limit. Let's see how he handles it.
King Tendulkar Posted August 7, 2011 Posted August 7, 2011 Absence of Bhajji is taking it's toll now..:hysterical:
