CrazyCric Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Yesterday during the lunch break Jonathan Agnew was interviewing another media guy ,and he said "Pakistan played better cricket than India during the fixed series in last summer" Discuss
Rajiv Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Offcourse they did, the played a fix game..do we have to discuss every pommie's comment.
Bumper Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 That is true. SL & Pak both played much better cricket than us. Even Bangladesh would be ashamed of our results.
Asoka Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Sad but 100% agree. Even Bangladesh played much better.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Pakistan looked like winning a test last summer and eventually did win one. That's something the other three Sub continent teams never seemed to do.
CrazyCric Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Offcourse they did' date=' the played a fix game..do we have to discuss every pommie's comment.[/quote'] They fixed to under perform ,so does that mean under performing Pakistan is better than India?
Ravi. Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Yes they did. Infact even Bangladesh played better than us.
Trichromatic Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Pakistan won 3rd test match. Their bowlers put England under pressure most of the time. Bangladesh gave them fight as much they could. Sri Lankans drew two test matches and lost only one. This is worst performance by a sub-continent team in England. Batsmen have done nothing, bowlers have been horrible. Only once there was a case when bowler did something and it was upto batsmen to bat in best batting conditions and support bowlers. But they didn't.
Sarkar Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Pakistan looked like winning a test last summer and eventually did win one. That's something the other three Sub continent teams never seemed to do. India have won a test series in england in 2007 where as other subcontinenal teams havent done in recent years.
Trichromatic Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 India have won a test series in england in 2007 where as other subcontinenal teams havent done in recent years. Isn't this comparison of performances in last series of each team?
Rajiv Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 They fixed to under perform ' date='so does that mean under performing Pakistan is better than India?[/quote'] ..that makes a game legal right
asterix Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 All I can say is that the presetn Indian team could've done much better but it seems they've lost the series in their minds and the willingness to fight is not there in many players.
Sid Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 There was only one difference ,they had a spinner who was performing we have none. If you take a look at their victory at Oval last year, the match was very similar to the Trent Bridge test. But Poyzz won that game coz Ajmal picked 4 wickets in the 2nd innings at Oval ,if the darter had given little support to the seamers at Trent Bridge, result may have been different.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 They fixed to under perform ' date='so does that mean under performing Pakistan is better than India?[/quote'] Strictly speaking, that wasn't under-performing. Cheating yes, but under performing comes in the category of match-fixing.
Iconoclast Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Pakistan without Yusuf, Younis and Misbah and with under-performing going on still managed to score a higher total than this Indian team that boasts the likes of Ghambir, Sehwag, Tendu, Dravid and Laxman. Now that's shocking.

Now that's shocking. Didnt u r batting greats with mohaamed yousuf and younis khan with ur phaast bowlers amir asif gul didnt u lose aus tour 10-0 . And mohaamed yousuf did play in final test in lords when pakistan get got bowled out for 70 or 80 in first innings.
NareshK Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I have to say the English were excellent in mind games during this series. All that talk about DRS, IPL, lack of preparation, Sachin's 100 centuries, No.1 ranking worked so perfectly against our team that the players looked a nervous wreck and unsure of their ranking in the first test itself. I have never seen Indians playing with so much self doubt and lack of confidence in the recent past even though they may have lost test matches. Its safe to say we have been mentally disintegrated by England. India can take a leaf out of their book in our home series but knowing Indian media they will as always try their best to put pressure on our team. :hatsoff:
