podi wije Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 sri lanka got anjelo mathews and Pakistan got abdul rassaq who can bat and bowl seam.and there are plenty of fast bowling allrounders who can bat a bit in sri lanka and pakistan. sri lanka - maharoof,thissara perera,chaminda vass bats a bit.(got a test 100 as well.) and etc..some upcoming players also there in the..especially danushla gunathilaka from U19 side opening batsman who can bowl seam.

And lolz at people blaming the weather and pitch for not producing allrounders. You need to have the heart , will, focus to become a genuine pace bowler or an allrounder. Its not as if Indians didnt have good potential allrounders. Srinath, Zaheer, Agarkar etc all could really have become decent allrounders. but poor work ethic, a stupid cricket board and perhaps lack of personal goals stunted their growth as allrounders. Even pace bowling wise if u see, we did have few bowlers who could have bowled at genuine pace for long. Nehra, Munaf , Zaheer ( to some extent ) , Ishant and a few bowlers of the past...( like Atul Wassan, kulkarni ).. but again, poor work ethic, lazy attitude I feel and not pushing the body hard enough to become stronger led them to lead a life of mediocrity and medium pace !

Trichromatic Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 If PK works hard on his batting, then he can become a goo lower order batsman (or maybe no 7) and good support bowler for India. It's hard to find good all-rounders. Best way is to improve the batting of genuine bowlers and vice-versa.

U mean possibly the worlds 2nd best allrounder of all times wasnt an allrounder ? N u seriously mean Razzaq and Mahmood were not true allrounders ? What have u been smoking, my brother ? Or is it just because they are Pakistani's ? Seriously, you cannot question these 3 players. They have been true allrounders with Imran being a legend. And yes, Irfan Pathan was an allrounder. How can u doubt that ?

Sunil gavaskar quoted this fact umpteen times. I have heard him say quite many a time the first time he met Wasim, he was only medium pace. And Imran assured Sunny that Wasim was special and he would bowl genuine pace in abt 6 months time. And he did ! ( With Imrans training ) It was the same case with Imran too. The first time Sunny faced Imran, he was only medium pace, in english county. And with Snow's training, he became genuine pace. I heard it from sunny and wasim . Dont have a link on the internet though.

How can u doubt that ? i think Imran Khan is OBVIOUS so i din need to say it.... Mahmood was NEVER consistent. Raqak true allrounder but not a star player.

Never said Imran transformed in 6 months. I said Wasim increased his pace in about 6 months time. I know that as I have heard Sunny talk about it on numerous occassions. Upto u to believe or not ...Only quoting what I heard him say !
