Well anyone can "see with their eyes" that England are the best side in the world.
No one's disputing that. It's the gigantic foot that Botham has stuffed in his mouth we're talking about.

Every country has a ultra emotional cricket fan like him. Let us not get worked up over it. Their team manages to beat most of the teams convincingly. Much like we take pride in our world cup win he does this. As an Indian fan i frankly don't care about how Pakistan loses a match or England gets thrashed by some X, Y team. I just want us to start rebuilding our next generation team. Things can get downright ugly as even much inferior teams can give a run for us. We can't depend always on Zaheer khan .

It is an embarrassing series for India. We just got steamrolled by England like a cartoon character. Most of the blame lies at our door step. Before the series it made sense to question their chest thumping. After the three tests i don't feel the same way.

Botham is part of the cheerleading brigade that comprises of folks like Shastri who goes about referring to their national team as "we". Any respected commentator should be able to detach himself from his team as he is supposed to be impartial. Botham should be aware of that since English commentating is the oldest in the game and hence these things should be fairly obvious. Apparently not.
