Lurker Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Somebody who not too IPL' date=' Advertisement, showbiz focussed..Only focussed in the best form of cricket.. Test cricket.. [b']Is then any Indian player out there? No. Can we get Bopara and Panesar imported?? wouldnt do worse than raina and mishra :(( By the way you should be happy! The Realist Posted August 22, 2011 Author Posted August 22, 2011 "We tried our best and that's what is important," says MS Dhoni They batted really well and were not able to get more than 300 in a single innings, that speaks for itself. There was no complacency but we didn't get much time before the series started. It's important to stay together as a unit, the expectation levels are always high from supporters back home but the team has to stay together and fight." Looks like he wants to keep the old guard and not look to the future

Karan114 Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 TINA factor will see him being there. Gauti and Sehwag have been injured far too frequently in recent times, rest are either too young or too old. Yep. If Gambhir was in any sort of form and could remain fit, I would prefer him to lead, but its not realistic.
asterix Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 No. Can we get Bopara and Panesar imported?? wouldnt do worse than raina and mishra :(( By the way you should be happy! I work from home.. :--D But my wife will have a field day once she's back home...Aaj tho khair nahin..

VVS needs to retire by the end of this year. Both Rahul and Sachin should retire by mid next year. If Sachin cannot get his 100th 100 by then, so be it. Enough of record chasing.
Rahul Dravid Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 im not the biggest dhoni fan... but i must admit, there is no better option.. and we must stick with dhoni. he needs to change a few tactics and approach.. but he is the right captain imo. there is no better option. kohli? no way.. he aint even a test player.. let alone hes got anger issues and i personally dislike him i really wouldn't wanna see him captain. gambhir cant either. there are no more options.. u cant go back to rahul or sachin lol... so dhoni it is and will be for a LONG time to come.
Andy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 No SOB can ask him to step down after he has won the WC. So this thread doesnt make any sense.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Expect a resignation announcement from Dhoni shortly.
Yoda-esque Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ^ I feel so too but not this early. Dhonis not the kind of person whos going to play politics to stay in the team .
Guest Gunner Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 im not the biggest dhoni fan... but i must admit, there is no better option.. and we must stick with dhoni. he needs to change a few tactics and approach.. but he is the right captain imo. there is no better option. kohli? no way.. he aint even a test player.. let alone hes got anger issues and i personally dislike him i really wouldn't wanna see him captain. gambhir cant either. there are no more options.. u cant go back to rahul or sachin lol... so dhoni it is and will be for a LONG time to come. Please tell me why Gambhir can't Captain the Indian test side?
Yoda-esque Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ^ Hes not a cool thinker and lets emotions get the better of him.
WC2011INDIA Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Please tell me why Gambhir can't Captain the Indian test side? Because he is injured and frankly speaking doesn't come across as captaincy material. In IPL he lost his cool at several occasions and made some brain fart decisions. Now I know you cannot compare test cricket to freakin ipl, but if in a 3 hr game gambhir has 10-15 brain farts then I can imagine what's going to happen in test cricket.
Andy Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ^ Hes not a cool thinker and lets emotions get the better of him. This word is OVERRATED.
Guest Gunner Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ^ Hes not a cool thinker and lets emotions get the better of him. He can't do worse than 0-4, can he?
Yoda-esque Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 ^ I am not rating that word at all.Just saying what is true.
Yoda-esque Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 He can't do worse than 0-4' date=' can he?[/quote'] Sure, but why don't we wait for some more time and give Dhoni another chance?
Guest Gunner Posted August 22, 2011 Posted August 22, 2011 Because he is injured and frankly speaking doesn't come across as captaincy material. He is injured now what does that have anything to do with him being a captain in the future? Secondly, how the hell do you make statements like he is not captaincy material? Have you played cricket at any reasonable level?
