Ban test players from playing in IPL and other non-sense tournaments and ask them to utilize that time for fitness and practice (not T20 type). VVS Laxman - Gracefully retire after WI series Sachin and Dravid - Play only test matches. Anyone who chooses some tamasha matches and skips test tour for this or risk an injury shouldn't be selected for next series.

Not going to WI, NZ and Bang is unacceptable.

Sehwag outside the subcontinent in the following countries : Eng SA NZ, sucks donkey balls. Some peopleI are going to get mad but that's the cold truth.

We cannot forget what got us here in the first place.We need to revamp the way BCCI works on team selection,schedule,circus cricket A.K.A IPL,Pitches for local matches,talent search,fundamental infrastructure. The positive from this debacle is this will allow our overconfident BCCI administrators to do these changes and move India in right direction. A score line 2-0 or even 3-0 would have made them complacent.

Midfielder Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Srikanth did the best job possible. If I was the head of selection committee 90% of the players would be the same. No need to make drastic changes, it is the game attitude and fitness that was the problem. Dont blame Srikanth.
King Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Take out all of the guys that doesn't have sound basic and ability to play short balls with regards to batting that includes Raina, Mukund, M Vijay, Kohli and the rest. Bring in young blokes that have come good overseas in the A tours and groom them. As for bowling, first come up with a plan as to where does India want to head in future. If it is the fast bowling then pick some young 15 year olds from around the country and groom them so that they can get there in about 4-5 years time. Also please teach them how to maintain fitness. I see the Indian bowlers end up taking a break and come back as if they were housed in KFC or McDonalds. If there's one to be fired, it has to be the physio and the physical fitness trainer in the Indian team. Majority of the players look like they have had a goat before they got on to the field and that can be ignored if they could bowl at 90 mph but these guys end up bowling like club cricketers.
anotherhawkeye Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 heads will roll if india keeps losing. you guys are totally overreacting. yes, the BCCI are money hungry scum, but what doesn't occur to you people is that the BCCI won't be able command the clout it currently has if the team turns to ****. they need a strong test, ODI and t20 team to maintain their clout and their massive tv rights. nobody would want to pay top dollar to watch a mediocre team, tv channels and sponsors alike want return on investment, cricket boards want full stadiums. a successful indian team keeps the bcci's coffers swelling. the WELL BEING OF BOTH ENTITIES ARE LINKED. YES, there is the IPL, but international cricket is a bigger cash cow and as a consequence, the BCCI won't simply allow indian cricket to fade away on the internatonal stage. changes will be made, people will get fired, players will be replaced and the team WILL start winning again. so please spare us this doom and gloom crap. yes, it sucks to lose 4-0, but get a hold of yourselves. Thanks for the most pragmatic post in all this doom and gloom. Only person who I would keep in short leash is Donut Duncan. Even he deserves another series or two.
