Vijay.Sharma Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 Prithviraj Chavan seems to be slighly better than Ashok Chavan and Vilasrao Deshmukh. The later two commited major faux paus when they were involved in the Adarsh scam and taking RGV to Taj after 26/11 respectively. Prithviraj Chavan is better spoken and has ordered a restructuring some of the provisions of the Maharashtra Agriculture and Fisheries Act. Thats a good move, which will if properly implemented will see benefits trickle down to the weakest sections of the society. He's better spoken than the two earlier CMs. But then again, its just too soon to decide. His handling of the 13/7/2011 bomb blasts leave a lot to be desired.I didn't really know what happened that time but how did he handle it...and more importantly what do you think he should have done to have handled it better
pinkfreud Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Prithviraj Chavan seems to be slighly better than Ashok Chavan and Vilasrao Deshmukh. He seems to be relatively clean, but I recall reading criticisms of him regarding his handling of the Adarsh scam as well. The prime accused in the scam have neither had any FIR slapped against them, nor have they been interrogated despite a judicial probe being initiated by Chavan into this matter. Instead, Latur Superman Vilasrao Deshmukh is sitting pretty in the MCA and warming his backside there. The others like Ramanand Tiwari and Jairaj Phatak are still holding their state portfolios to this very day, and Suresh Joshi is at the forefront for becoming an advisor to YASHADA.
CG Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 He is a disgrace.time will come when he will have to pay for his deeds.
bulbul Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 on serious note Narendra Modi Nithish kumar Suresh kumar (Karntataka Law minister) Acchu mama (ex Kerala CM)
Yoda-esque Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Devegowda Yeddy Sidramayya You forgot to mention Bangarappa
bulbul Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 He is a disgrace.time will come when he will have to pay for his deeds. when time comes every one pays their due...Present is most important as of now..
bulbul Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 You forgot to mention Bangarappa yep...that's one great politician. I dont think there is another politician like him born in India
Mariyam Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Are you kidding me? !!! Sharad Pawar was very firm on the Sonia -Italian origin leading the congress and broke away. Thereby giving up his only chance to be a PM.
urbestfriend Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Sharad Pawar was very firm on the Sonia -Italian origin leading the congress and broke away. Thereby giving up his only chance to be a PM. :hysterical: He chose to break away because he is not loyal to Sonia , hence can never be PM when in congress so his best bet to become PM is to form a party and become PM through third front.
CG Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 when time comes every one pays their due...Present is most important as of now.. His time will run out soon, supreme court will punish him for allowing riots.atleast other politicians. Are not that bad.
ravishingravi Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 No one can match this from any other party d-8MxmFpVdo
urbestfriend Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 Meh..She concentrated on more political points rather than actual issue. Arun Jaitley's and Sitaram Yechury was much better.
ravishingravi Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 But the issue is political. There is little doubt that scams over last 2 years have brought this situation. I agree Jaitley and Yechury were very good. Jaitley is always great.
ravishingravi Posted August 27, 2011 Author Posted August 27, 2011 My criteria for being a good politician is that a person should be a leader. he should inspire people into acting and doing something. He should also be an able administrator and not be biased. Of the lot, some whom I respect are: Nitish Kumar: Bihar faced the worst floods since independence, and this guy was upto the task. And everyone loves him. Upper castes, lower castes, Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs. Note because of the ideology he espouses, but because the guy can be fair. Sharad Pawar: This guy is a leader of men. And has some principles that he stands upto. Unfortunately he is corrupt to the core. If only.... Manishankar Aiyer: A much more refined version of Chidambaram. Aticulate, honest ( or seems to be so) and inspirational. Salman Khurshid: He's got a clean image. He's got a vision. Will he have any freedom to deliver? Other notable mentions: Sachin Pilot, Milind Deora, Mamta Banerjee, Govinda :P There must be two Aiyars there. The one I know is articulate, yes, provocative , yes, jingoistic, yes, pro gandhian fundamentalist yes and borderline Diggi Singh when it comes to right wing. He is honest when he need to be. But he is a good debater.
Guest Gunner Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Manishankar Aiyar? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Secretary of Rajiv Gandhi?? :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical:
Guest Gunner Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Chidambaram is a criminal. Another impotent dhoti like Pranab Mukherjee is the last thing we need in this country. Quite frankly it is time we elected a young potent and articulate leader like Obama.
