A) - I have not named him Bihar Express. He is actually called so, here in his homestate. @ nballa @ Sunnyji - I will try to go and check this guy out for sure. I am not sure where they have clocked him. However, theres only one notable stadium in Patna, Moinul Haq which is in shatters. I do not know if they have a speed machine. I will surely want to make a video of this guy . Doesnt matter if he turns out to be a trundler but atleast I can do what I can. @ Tiger - Yes, I agree that newspapers are not reliable especially local newspaper. However, my point was, even if this guy is bowling at around 130-135 ( thats how much leeway I will give, a reduction of 15-20 kms ) , he is still quick Indian team standards. And coming from such a small place, it is an achievement. Btw, Jhulan Goswami was clocked as the worlds fastest bowler in women cricket. But ofcourse she was in 120's. @ Express Bowling - Thanks for the sane and kind words.Couldnt agree with you more. Unless and until we have a pool of fast bowlers, we can never have good competition and we can never have world class bowlers. And we will keep having just one star bowler on whom the whole team will depend. To have 2-3 quality fast bowlers in the team, we need to search and nurture every talent that we can. It would be great if a company like 'Gatorade' can have the fastest bowler competition in these small places. Btw Dragonfly, Patparhganj express doesnt exist. All that we have there is rajesh, who is a really good offspinner in the entire Patparganj, motherdairy and pandav nagar area. I didnt get you RTK bhai.

At present There 10 Indian IPL teams ,I am sure they search talent too ,if Rehan is such a good bowler then I am sure 1 of IPL team would puck him

I think we are so desparate for "phaast" bowlers that everyone wants to find, discover & name every chappadgunju as "Express", "Atul Sharma the machine" and "legend" I still remember mods here sending me Private messages on why I was questioning the "whorish" publicity stunt of Atul Sharma on ICF In fast bowling department we have started acting like the Paki public :wall:

I called the local newspaper office and spoke to the sports reporter myself. The guy was adamant that this bowler is indeed that fast. He has promised me to take me to Rehan and Kamlesh probably on Sunday to see and record for myself. So lets see Tiger, where this leads to.

I have come to my paternal home ( actually just my cousin's place ) for a week , Patna, and was going through some of the local newspapers. As expected, media is full of introspection on the dismal Indian performance. Amongst them, there was this article on the local Bihar team players. It did happen to be an intriguing read. As per the newspaper, Bihar can boast of 2 pace bowlers who can bowl at lively pace. One is Kamlesh Singh, an allrounder who can bat well and can swing the ball prodigiously at a pace of around 135ks- 140's. The other bowler is more interesting. Rehan Khan. He is called " Bihar Express " over here. The article read that Rehan has bowled all his life on the dead and barren pitches of Bihar where theres absolutely no pace and has been clocked in 150's. He clocks 140's at will. However, Bihar does not have a Ranji recognition and hence theres no Bihar team now. These players tried their hands in Jharkhand but were not given matches, whereas Rehan only got 1 match from Jharkhand. Rehan quotes that he tried playing from other states, however the politics was too much and he was not allowed. While I have not seen these 2 bowlers myself, I do plan to go and check them myself . Now the point of this post was not to create a hype and state that we have another genuine quickie. I just wanted to point out the dismal state of affairs for Indian sportspersons and especially those from smaller places. Maybe, if given a chance they could have actually proved themselves.

I dunno if it's something that would interest you but here's one thing you can do. When you do check him out and if you really think he's pacy enough, just write to one of the IPL teams. (pls forget about IPL destroying cricket and all...the idea is to bring this boy into public consciousness). The Bangalore side engages with it's fans like crazy. They always are willing to listen to their fans. Rajasthan Royals have an intensive talent search program. Then there is the idiot Khan who will bend backwards for a pathan in his team.
