Cricket Tragic Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 Jonathan Trott? He has qualities of a good test batsman. :nervous: Yes good but not great.
TheYuvi02 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 that we can tell only after 10 years..as of now it's just a guess... current contenders are ..ABDV,Amla,Gambir,Bell,..to certain extent KP.. the cricketing environment is completely different from what 15 years ago..when current Greats started....so it's hard to to tell how the guys started now ends up after 10 years As many people expressed below 50+ avg no longer guarantee you Great They bullied Indian bowlers so they are minnow bashers :giggle:
daryl1985 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Rahane and Pujara are the future of the Indian Middle order IMO and will average close to or above 50.
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Who will average below 30 with the ball?
Sachin=GOD Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Who will average below 30 with the ball? Ishant can do it.
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Ishant can do it. Averaging 34 after 38 tests is really bad and he is our main bowler. :((
div Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Averaging 34 after 38 tests is really bad and he is our main bowler. :(( It is decent, not bad. This is not 80s.
TheYuvi02 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Who will average below 30 with the ball? Dude, stop dreaming. 50 plus average has been done by Indian batsmen before that's why this thread is realistic but you are just insane :hysterical: I would be happy with average below 35 :nervous:
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Dude' date=' stop dreaming. 50 plus average has been done by Indian batsmen before that's why this thread is realistic but you are just insane :hysterical: [b']I would be happy with average below 35 :nervous:
TheYuvi02 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011  Ishant: 34, Sreesanth: 37 Harbhajan: 32 Mishra: 43 I hope Praveen can be the only one with less than 30 but he only played 6 tests so far and Indian fast bowlers seem to do well in the beginning and then start to fall. I hope I am wrong :nervous:
Cricket Tragic Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 An average of slightly less than 30 isn't really that good for a fast bowler. The great ones average in the low 20s.
TheYuvi02 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 An average of slightly less than 30 isn't really that good for a fast bowler. The great ones average in the low 20s. That was in the past, nowadays only fast bowler to average in the low 20's is Steyn and he is far above the rest.
Trichromatic Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 That was in the past' date=' nowadays only fast bowler to average in the low 20's is Steyn and he is far above the rest.[/quote'] Even now the bowlers with good career throughout average around 25. Below 30 is good for India.
Cricket Tragic Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 That is still the benchmark. Steyn has shown that is can be done if you're bloody good.
Pagalpanti Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Rahane and Pujara have looked real good, both showed good signs in their debut game, it'll be shame really if they don't really excel at test level. Bowlers, don't really have hopes from anyone :((, PK is too slow, players will get used to his swing.
ShebbySB Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Pujara,Rahane,Rohit,Kohli & Mukund all will average 40+ for sure. That should be good enough.
rkt.india Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Dude' date=' stop dreaming. 50 plus average has been done by Indian batsmen before that's why this thread is realistic but you are just insane :hysterical: I would be happy with average below 35 :nervous:[/quote'] How many Indian batsmen averaged 50+ in 70s and 80s? I think there is only one SMG. It shows the quality of bowling then and now as well as tells you a few things about the pitches.
Rahul Dravid Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 lol at guys hating on sanga.. the guy is PURE CLASS.
Rahul Dravid Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 and ya due to flat pitches ppl will average high.. that graph of how the game has changed over the years ( for worse) shows it perfectly...
