that we can tell only after 10 years..as of now it's just a guess... current contenders are ..ABDV,Amla,Gambir,Bell,..to certain extent KP.. the cricketing environment is completely different from what 15 years ago..when current Greats started....so it's hard to to tell how the guys started now ends up after 10 years As many people expressed below 50+ avg no longer guarantee you Great
They bullied Indian bowlers so they are minnow bashers :giggle:

Who will average below 30 with the ball?
Dude, stop dreaming. 50 plus average has been done by Indian batsmen before that's why this thread is realistic but you are just insane :hysterical: I would be happy with average below 35 :nervous:

Ishant: 34, Sreesanth: 37 Harbhajan: 32 Mishra: 43 I hope Praveen can be the only one with less than 30 but he only played 6 tests so far and Indian fast bowlers seem to do well in the beginning and then start to fall. I hope I am wrong :nervous:

An average of slightly less than 30 isn't really that good for a fast bowler. The great ones average in the low 20s.
That was in the past, nowadays only fast bowler to average in the low 20's is Steyn and he is far above the rest.

Rahane and Pujara have looked real good, both showed good signs in their debut game, it'll be shame really if they don't really excel at test level. Bowlers, don't really have hopes from anyone :((, PK is too slow, players will get used to his swing.

I think there is only one SMG. It shows the quality of bowling then and now as well as tells you a few things about the pitches.
