Vijay.Sharma Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 By far the scariest thing that's happened to me. Lightning storm, pitch dark, flying over water ... what the eff man, why me :((That reminds me of this damn funny incident...back in 2004. A client and I were to go to Hyderabad from Bangalore on like an hour's notice. It was in that year that the world famous Air Deccan airlines came into business - the first cheap flights airliner. Of course the tickets were also really cheap...believe me it was a miracle that we came out alive! They used a bloody 20 seater kinda airplane...really old...u could see even the paint and all scratched and it just looked like one of those junkyard machines. The client was an Aussie guy...white boy...probably this is the first time he was seeing such a plane (it had to be coz it was the first tiem I had seen such a plane). Anyway the system in the flight was..no system. No seat numbers nothing...air hostess wouldn't greet u, nothing. When we were entering the flight - evry step we took the flight would swing a little. And typical Indian humor...some guys were laughing at the fact. OK, since there were no ticket numbers and all you should have seen the way educated business men running to catch seats...literally throwing their bags on to the seat from far as if to say that seat is mine...remember in bus stands and all during younger days people would thru their kerchiefs in thru the window to mark their seats? It was exactly that but instead of a bus it was a plane and instead of kerchiefs they were baggages. And then the plane started...it made a huge noise and shook a little. As it was accelerating on the run way couple of the overhead cabins got unlocked....full tension. The flight took off and within about 5 minutes was shaking like crazy. Now comes the best part...I turned to the client and said "man, what a flight!". The guy had his eyes closed, his hands folded between his knees, and neck slightly tilted to look to the heavens...then he said "I am just thinking what Cathy and the kids are gonna do" :haha: Of course at that time it wasn't funny but when I remember about the incident just can't stop laughing. Damn his face turned red like an apple. Some of the other passengers were also as shaken as him while some were laughing. The best were the airhostesses...they were standing still at their cabin and chatting away as if it was nothing unusual. gotay moon main aa gaye the us din!
EnterTheVoid Posted September 8, 2011 Author Posted September 8, 2011 Nice one Vijay. This was the plane in the middle of the drama:

Vijay.Sharma Posted September 8, 2011 Posted September 8, 2011 Nice one Vijay. This was the plane in the middle of the drama: They allowed u to take a picture during the boarding? Or did u sneak a click? I thought it wasn't allowed...I was warned once long time back and hence stopped from then onwards.
