Two shots will stay in the memory forever. The very first, where he nonchalantly stood on tiptoes off the backfoot and despatched Donald through point, and the second, the very last coruscating extra cover drive played on the rise with the finesse of an artist to get to his 150. The look on Donald's face! Pred, brilliant work with the videos, BTW. It's showing up on the number of new registrations and the hit count.

India had lost 4 wickets for nothing when Sachin came in and that became 5 for very little as VVS was dismissed. In walked Azhar and the two put the South African bowlers to sword. The counterattack not only took South African bowlers by surprise but even the commentators/experts were left scratching their heads if ever such a patnership was seen on South African soil? I have faint memory of this game but I if I not mistaken about 220 runs were put together by these two in about 3 hours or so. Against an attack of Donald, Pollock, Klusener, McMillian both batsmen scored at a brisk pace with Azhar scoring more than a run a ball hundred. This innings should be widely celebrated and showed to every budding Indian batsmen on how to try to pull yourself out of a corner..and what amazing array of strokes too. Donald mentioned about couple of boundaries Tendulkar hit off him in the Durban test. Which is why I rate my dismissal of Tendulkar at Durban in 1996 as the best ball I've ever bowled in Test cricket. I remember that over very clearly. Tendulkar had just hit me for two boundaries, but I decided to stick to my outside-the-off-stump line. The ball just nipped back sharply and claimed his off-stump. It was a perfect ball and, more importantly, exposed a tiny chink in the army colonel's armour.
