Well, the pinching cheeks is just an example...the main point being the stigma associated with touching a child who is not yours when the intent has nothing to do with pedo-giri. This whole thing about generalizations and profiling - I mean each and everyone of us adults is being profiled as a pedo by default, innit? Edit - I don't understand what Mariyam is implying here - only men are capable of being pedos? Is the stigma in the USA and UK only against men. How do ppl react if a woman touches a kid - is that acceptable?
yes I cant cuddle cuties :(( sometimes I itch. :nervous:

WIth many teachers taking adv of boys, this stigma is slowly covering both sexes..although people rarely violate physical boundaries. It is taught right from kindergarten. You don't see young boy6s going around with hands on each other shoulders (like we used to do in India). Other day, I saw two old men from India, walking like that. It was so ****ing odd. I am sure, a lot of local people would think they were a couple.
White chick misunderstood my friend and me as gay coz he just rested his shoulder..another desi explained that its acceptable in our culture. Imagine if she saw middle eastern greeting each other with kisses Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk

Then why the specificity in your post? Or were you just taken in by the stereotyping at the moment when you wrote that post
Seems like your psychological inertia is no letting you take into cognizance the T,S,P,C of that statement. :P There was no stereotyping at all. Was recounting my observations.

Feel free to pm me and I'll be glad to clarify your thoughts. ps - Your tongue smiley seems to be losing it's charm quite rapidly You mean active observations...as in men actually demonstrating pedo behavior that you witnessed? Or more like here-say from newspapers, gossip, etc, etc?

@ Vijay: I merely replied to a post by coffee_rules. I said....

A woman ruffling a young guy's hair, or lightly pinching the cheeks of a sweet girl is totally acceptable. And it is quite a prevalent practice.
And pray, what has this to do with guys or girls being or not being pedos? You take the above to imply that only men can be pedos? Apparently, syllogisms are not your forte. Anyways, feel free to discuss pedos or whatever it is (you think) you are discussing with those who are interested.

@ Vijay: Re-read that post. I merely replied to a post by coffee_rules. I said.... And pray, what has this to do with guys or girls being pedos? Anyways, feel free to discuss pedos or whatever it is (you think) you are discussing with those who are interested. I'm done here.
Mariyam, had you bothered to clarify yourself the first time around then this lil tete-a-tete wouldn't have been necessary. Now you clearly mentioned, "a woman..." hence I asked are you implying if a man does it then he is a pedo. All you needed to do was to say "No" without having to wait for me to remind you that you haven't yet answered me. Now, I have absolutely no problems if ppl do not want to answer me. But experience with you shows me you kinda back off from answering the moment a slightly difficult question is asked. Which is fine by me. but don't put this charade of your smileys while responding to my posts at least. I don't like it. There are some people I can take jokes and banter from and there are some I cannot. I am afraid the energy you give off on this forum is that of a person who comes here to just laugh at others. I have not experienced you making any constructive arguments ever. To me, you seem more interested in making fun of people and keep your binoculars ready to catch the next "retarded" post. It's fine by me if you are here only for those things...who the hell am I to judge you. But my request - choose the people you make fun off more intelligently (the t,s,p,c for the previous sentence is not only in regards to this thread). Hope we are clear.

Beware if an Amway Desi stares you..
Is it highly prevalent there? Man I had an experience of it here in 2002-03. The guys go nuts man...they start saying all bad things about your friends if your friend dunn listen to them.

Does it not occur to you that people may have better/other things to do than answering your pseudo intellectual questions 24x7? Or that people may take time to reply? Why is that so difficult to fathom? The rest of your write up was hilarious. The funniest you've been on ICF, intentionally. Good day.

It ain't about you having to answer me. It is a pattern noticeable in your posts on this forum. And frankly today I just was in the mood to throw light on it. Have a great evening!

While you are at it, why not throw some light on how you frequently accuse others of 'taqaiyya' and then back off when asked for an explanation?
