Jadeja or no jadeja Indian team are going to be hammered in champions trophy like they were last time in southafrica.Jadeja can play at home if he is consistent with the bat which i doubt.
For some reason we have been pure rubbish in CT ever since we won in 2002. K-O in first round in both England 2003 SA last time and even at home in 2006

Oh look I definitely agree that it makes it harder for spinners but I don't think it means that part-time spinners are ineffective. Yes you can still hit boundaries to bowlers that dart it in but you have to hit through the field. With another man in saving one, it makes it a little bit harder to hit through the field. Why it's harder for spinners now is if they get their length slightly wrong and batsmen can get under it and hit over the infield, then there are more gaps in the outfield now. I was just saying that a smart spinner who can dart it in to the batsmen's pads from a lower trajectory, may find the extra fielder in the inner circle handy.
i get wht ur saying.. margin of error is lot less now to put it simply and part timers make mistakes a lot lot more....see yuvraj for instance i think he is mentally struggling right now cos of new field and dhoni himself has admitted that its much harder for part timers we just need pathan to get fit and replace ishant :winky: then we can play proper batsman in place of jadeja

We were rubbish because those tourneys were abroad and pitches had juice in them. Our bowling and batting are exposed abroad as always.

Well we did exceptionally well in World Cup 2003 just a year before won CB series and T20 world overseas in this period and one of CT we were K-O in first round was in India in 2006.

T20 wc and cb series we won because as we had a very good pace attack .R.P Singh,Sreesanth,Ishant,P.k and our topoder performed.

My ODI team: 1. Ajinkya Rahane 2. Cheteshwar Pujara 3. Virat Kohli 4. Yuvraj Singh 5. Suresh Raina 6. MS Dhoni (CAPTAIN & WK) 7. Ambati Rayudu 8. Ravichandran Ashwin 9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar 10. Ashok Dinda 11. Shami Ahmed
it's really feels akward how the team will look completely different in a couple of years. Yuvraj, Ghambir, Shewag and Dhoni is almost done and only known ones are Raina and Kholi and this so called CRAPPY *****Y JADEJA. if this blok (jadeja) is still playing for team india in a couple of years and still dosen't improve, i will literaly stop following cricket

Its about balance. If someone is happy to have yuvraj as 5th bowler then dropping jadeja is ok. But if want 5 bowlers, with that 5th bowler being able to contribute with bat, then Jaadeja should be in. Only other real candiaite for this role is I Pathan

^We need both really because there has to be a 5th bowler and a 6th one to chip in if our pacemen have poor days. The way the squad is now it is balanced. Hopefully RJ can build on this last batting performance and come good as a lower order finisher

no we are just rating him as decent lower order batsman (much better than jadeja ) and a decent swing bowler..will do much better job then ishant no one is expecting him to win match on his own but atleast he wont be a liability most of the time

On Indian wickets, he will go for runs especially if there is no swing. He is also not a good death bowler.

He could be a decent bat on flat wickets but dont expect more than that.[/quote'] champions trophy is not in india and ishant is also very bad death bowler also irfan was good with bat in australia much better then jaddu so with next world cup in mind he should be automatic choice.. he is anyday better than dinda and ishant in odis with ball only then add his batting and it is no brainer

expecting 6 batsmen to win and irfan to do the job of a batsman are plain illogical even great sides that can win with bowling alone didn't/don't play five bowlers, dude. leave alone side with bowling such as ours. by what sort of logic, do you rely on players who are no matchwinners and at best decent containers? do you want the opposition to win? 7 batsmen are minimum. the bowlers are not going to win us matches. Even if they put a decent containing effort, ppl in india jumpup and down. you are plain deluded in your comparison of irfan with jadeja.you cannot expect a bowling allroudner to be as reliable as a batsman.Unless you do not understand the difference between them.

^ Er. Who is the bowling all rounder and who the batsman?? Of course sides that can win with bowling alone dont NEED to play all rounders. We HAVE to because our pacemen can be rubbish. Its illogical to pack a side with 7 bats. And then expect Yuvraj- as useful as he is he cant bowl 10 overs spells every match, especially away from home- Raina is not a good part timer and Kohli definitely is not. We need either Irfan or RJ and 4 bowlers... Id go so so far as to say both- as sabby pointed out Irfan is a better ODI bowler than Dinda and Ishant and RJ and Irfan as 7 and 8 would give our batting real depth. Irfan has been doing well for India of late, thats it. No one is overstating his influence, let alone claiming he is a world class all rounder. He is a good swing bowler and can be a clean striker of the ball late on. Dont think anyone is expecting him or Jadeja to the job of a batsman- theyre expected to contribute as allrounders.

this is nothing more than a figment of your imagination.we have a world cup and a world cup final with only four bowlers.:hysterical: the notion that a 5th bowler(simialr or worse thsn his peers) can raise the quality of your attack is totally fiction. 5 bowlers > 4 bowlers is also fiction. in bowling ,quality matters. Logically, only a world class bowler significantly better than the peers can raise trhe quality. if another mediocre joins a mediocre gang, the gang is still mediocre and as ineffective. our bowlers are there for only a decent containing effort or helpful conditions. so this "need to" does not arise at all . the batsmen are far more vital to winning.
Its illogical to pack a side with 7 bats.
' a load of nonsense with no factual basis or logical merit or criketing sense . 6 batsmen against a strong attack? how often have strong attacks grabbed four wickets for less than 200? what about conditions not every ODI is a gentle one vs sl or nz on flat tracks at home. 7 batsmen have time and again proved vital. and for " when batsmen fire, we often win" india, its a no brainer. why would anyone endanger our ONLY CHANCE OF WINNING.
. Dont think anyone is expecting him or Jadeja to the job of a batsman- theyre expected to contribute as allrounders
' who said so? jadeja has to be a batting allrounder .he may not be mature now. but he has to grow much further. no 7 has to someone strong in batting. i was arguing against irfan at no 7. he can bat in a bowler's position or a suprise move up without losing a batsman.
