For a three time triple centurion ,even on rajkot's pata wicket , he is a sitting duck on short balls even in Indian subcontinent . Wonder how will he cope with the same in south Africa or Australia , especially on seaming tracks .

In India, he will perform once he get to bat more. He rarely gets to bat.

Ashwin looks 5 times more solid in my opinion Jadeja should work on his bowling only because India dont need a lower order batsman but rather a quality spinner for their bowling lineup which looks miserable as usual. Jadeja has excelled in the bowling department, I think at the end of his career he might be remembered as a world class bowler and not the batsman that has 3 FC triples
Lord Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I think he and Ashwin are about equal as ODI batsmen.While Ashwin is technically better and can be used to consolidate or repair the damage like he did in last match,Jaddu can be used in slog overs to hit around like he did in CT. Ashwin should have cme at 7 in last match

His 50s so far have been against mediocre attacks or on pata pitches, that too when the top order has knocked the stuffing out of the opposition and demoralized them and he only did " behti ganga mein haath dhona ":doh: Give me one instance in international cricket when he scored a 50+ score when the chips were down :orderorder: @Executioner ..Agree with you that Ashwin looks more solid as a batsman ..if jadeja is contributing only as a bowler, wonder how he can keep out Pragyan Ojha from the test side just on this basis ..He can justify his place in Test & ODI side only on the complete package of excellent bowler/excellent fielder , decent no.6 batsmen

He can handle short deliveries at 130 k or 140 k but when the bowler like Mitch Johnson can crank it up to 150 k and gets bounce, he will find it difficult. He is a lower order batsman and you can't expect him to have perfect technique. He is more than capable of rotating strike and striking a few blows at the end overs which is what's required of him. He is more than valuable as a bowler and a fielder.

But ya, kudos to Jadeja to finally show something[/quote'] what a colassal ignoramus like you does not understand. 1. you are dumb and ignroant enough to compare a junior player who came in his teens to a senior player who came in in late 20's. did we see Yusuf at internationals between the age of 19 and 24? The senior player is pretty much saturated in his game and learning curve.With Yusuf, what you see is what you get.that's not the case with jadeja, a developing player. 2. developing into a matchwinner at international level is a extremely tough job. its a long process.some ppl mature earlier.some ppl later.Being a matchwinner by the age of 26-27 would not be a bad objective. dhawan was not matchwinner at age 25 , he is at 28. 3.At less than full potential and maturity , jadeja averages higher than Yusuf or razzaq so far. that is highly creditable. 4. he has lot of scope for further development.especially more intelligence,more maturity and better shotmaking abilities can be developed. this is not his best yet.he still has some way to go then haters have a lot of depressing years ahead.good luck
