Indian Muslims vote for those governments that are pro-Palestine in their outlook? And pray, what % of Indian Muslims are even aware of the Palestine-Israeli conflict and India's stand on it? Sometimes, you know, our leaders maybe smarter than you give them credit for. Maybe Dr.MMS and his team have some thinking and/or agreement behind this.

There are lot of examples for Congress party regarding Vote bank pollitics... One such case is Communal bill , regarding MMS smartnes - whatever his qualification he is a Puppet PM no one can deny that,he prpved it again and again.. You talk to Israel behind the scenes, letting them know that the UNGA vote doesn't matter in front of the US veto, the cooperation shall remain & India shall continue to import the best of military hardware. At the same time, you show the world you are sympathetic to the underdog & also maintain decent relations with the oil rich middle east.

One such case is Communal bill , You haven't read my post properly. I'm not denying the existence of vote bank politics. Every party plays that game. Like you said, the proposed communal violence bill, reservations for Muslims and SC/ST etc are examples of that. But supporting the cause of Palestine in the UN is not an example of vote bank politics. How many people follow these issues? Who votes based on foreign policy? I think 'Clarke' has wonderfully attempted to answer the logic behind this move.

UPA supporting creation of the Palestine state shows the respect it has for the concerns raised by Indian muslims! This is nothing but a ploy to get some cheap votes. Digvijay Singh referred to the topic during his discussions with the maulanas today. The classic Congress ploy of fooling the minority voters.

This is a tried and tested strategy by Kangress..It works like a charm.. Kangress badly needs en-masse minority votes this time as there's a real danger of it getting kicked out due to Corruption issues.
