WC2011INDIA Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 http://www.akashslate.com/index.html $35 is NOT bad.
DomainK Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Even the carrying case for the samsung tab costs more.
Trichromatic Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 How can a person get it at $35 and not $60?
Sachin=GOD Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 How can a person get it at $35 and not $60? I think the $35 price is only for students in colleges where the Govt will supply this tablet. For the rest of the people the price should be around $60 - which in itself is amazingly low for a tablet.
Clarke Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Oh damn, i thought you had sources to get one of these: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akash_(missile)

ganeshran Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 366 mhz is way too low for a tablet. I hope the ministry actually put some thought into the device before taking a step that might lead it to end up wth egg on its face like it did with Sakshat

gs Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I'm hoping it doesn't turn out to be another lemon like Tata Nano of the 'cheapest' car fame.

Trichromatic Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I would think that I got my money back if it works fine for at least 1 year.

gs Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 for that price what u want Apple... Lets hope there will be no scam behind this.. This will be probably like a basic feature phone.... I dont expect an Apple product for the price. But before touting it as the "cheapest" tablet I expect it to be reasonably functional even if basic. I would also be mighty impressed if it was made "cheaper" using Indian ingenuity rather than by cutting corners, underpaying workers, using currency arbitrage and so on.
Jersey #10 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I am in too...Anyone who can supply for 35 bucks?I would like to try it too....
