saneindian Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Don't blame the speedguns. The same speedguns show the spinners bowling their normal speed. It is quite possible that bowlers bowl within themselves in first class cricket considering the dead wickets, long spells and nothing from the pitch. On helpful tracks like the one at Motibagh Baroda or the Mysore Ground, bowler do bowl quicker than they normally do as they put in more effort.

Many pace bowlers bowl faster than they normally do, one because they have to bowl only 4 overs, two because they are bowling to many international class players and three many important people are watching, including Franchise owners.

One delivery he bowled was Harmison-ish and went through the slips. With the orientation of his bowling arm, that seemed like the perfect place where the ball should go.

Only results matter. A bowler with slingshot action is often very difficult for batsmen to read.

I feel he can do good in Australia. Dinda has a lot of wasteful effort in his run up but if that gets him in rhythm then it is good.

On the same Neo speed guns, Varun Aaron was recorded at 153 in that DOMESTIC match and in the same match he was bowling at an average of 145 k. And there is big diff between international and domestic standards. If you think, a bowler can't hurry the batsmen at 125 k, then you r wrong. Even 125 is enough to hurry any domestic batsman.
Ram Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 From a very pedantic point of view, the guy definitely looks brisk. Seems like his average speed is around 84-85 mph, occasionally topping 87-88. Its good to see a lot of up and coming quicks in our FC cricket these days. And to think they have to literally break their back on some of the most barren pitches on the planet is heart-breaking. No wonder nobody wants to become fast bowlers in India.
