saneindian Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 Great comeback from Umesh today. If only he had the luxury of playing with 30+ total on the board, he could be even more dangerous.
deathmonger Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I will confidently predict we won't. The next Yadav will arrive in three years' date=' by that time the original Yadav will be Ishant Sharma. [b']Lord knows what Ishant Sharma will be.. Hopefully a Zaheer Khan.
Old guy Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 maybe he could have taken a few wickets but i dont see him as an impact bowler with that pace 120-125 even with swing...you need at least 130-135k with swing. yes i know but i think he would ve done better than ishant..
chainsmoker1985 Posted January 14, 2012 Posted January 14, 2012 I am just happy that this time Dhgoni didn't robbed him of a fifer(although I got scared when he decide to change his ends all of a sudden, I thought he removed him once again after getting 4 wickets) But, I still think Dhoni robbed him of a 6-for. :P

Dhonuts Dhoni Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Talented. Just needs to improve his consistency in bowling to left handers.
Cricket Tragic Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Talented. Just needs to improve his consistency in bowling to left handers. Needs to improve his consistency in general. Not going to be hard on the kid though - he has been one of the positives on the tour.
Yadavanator Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Seems to have a problem Siddle had a few years ago, in that he pitches too short too often. Needs to take a leaf out of Siddle and Pattinson's books and pitch it up more often. Love the kid (woot Delhi) and I think he has a massive career ahead.
Old guy Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 he is quick learner unlike siddle and much more talented (can swing ball even in india)
vishalvirsingh Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 I agree umesh cud have got a fifer before , just that he was underbowled by dhoni...he will get many fifer"s if he gets good oppurtunity..... Even in this innings he bowled 17 overs and took 5 wickets..ishu bowled 18 overs got 2 wickets and zak bowled 21 overs n got 2 and cud have got warner earlier had kohli caught. Had I been the captain I wud have bowled this young guy at least 21 or 22 overs and ishu not more than 15. VK bowled 13 and sehwag 7 overs - both got 1 wicket each.
Dravid_TheWall Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 His very good. Not afraid to try different things and I like the intensity in each delivery. He can keep coming at you. Very fit and gets movement at times. With experience, hopefully the boundary balls will decrease. I suppose this is one aspect which he needs to work on especially if he wants to perform in ODI cricket. Needs to tighten up. CB series for him will be a good learning curve.
express bowling Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 ah well they dont suvive for long now a days best bowlers in last 10 years have been who can bowl in 140's easily and can move the ball True. It is better to be a good and fit 145 k strike bowler than an unfit 155 k quick who is injured more often than he plays.

Dinda has swing and pace. Would have been a good choice as he is current in form also.
daryl1985 Posted January 15, 2012 Posted January 15, 2012 Dinda has swing and pace. Would have been a good choice as he is current in form also. Can Dinda move it both ways? He always impressed me in the IPL (not a good indicator for tests i know). I thought he would have been given more of a chance in ODI's. Surely he is at least as good as Vinay.

It is difficult to understand how Dinda and Gony are not even being considered while Vinay and Mithun are automatic choices.
Old guy Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 dinda any is better then kumar.. we are not selecting our best players we are still playing people who now cant bat and are almost 40 and we just played super tundler in place of ashwin who wasnt really that bad!
msb1991 Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 Praveen did well against England in England and Umesh is doing well against Australia in Australia. Two very tough tasks. Hope to see the two of them play together in the near future.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted January 16, 2012 Posted January 16, 2012 After a long time we are seeing the reginalism and favouratism back in indian team. The non deserving players from Karnataka TN etc are getting in.Someone needs to say this on the face of the selectors.
