Is Rahane too slow for LOI cricket?

i think with experience he will gain the art of rotating strike.....lets not spoil his technique and make him unfit for test matches.....he is a very good contender for playing test matches for india

He is fit for test cricket...He is a slow starter and plays well only when ball is on pads...even at mohali he made 91 he was playing on 39 in 57 balls and then came 2-3 lucky boundaries through edges..someone like uthappa should get chance to open the innings against windies if sehwag is unavailable.Rahane is playing very selfish.

He is just fine. In team full of stroke makers, Rahane can't be faulted for playing less strokes. However, he needs to convert his starts in longer innings.

I just have this feeling that Shewag is going to decline suddenly ( eye hand players like eg.Sir Viv / Lara do this, it's part of nature's way , technique for the Sachins of the world , but touch players( like these others ) are as good as their reflexes) - 32 is often the age when it starts to become noticeable- of course it varies but.... !! It's a pity that the domestic FC set up is'nt more pace friendly or result oriented , or 4-5 day based . Frankly given India's size the Duleep trophy should be @ Test level , we pick( nominally )from more players than the rest of the world put together !!! Agree with the people who say he looks to be a test player first and foremost. He looks to have the class to be able to adapt to ODIs also once he gains some more experiance.

One thing is sure, He is almost like Dravid when it comes to handling stiff run rate in the death. Not reliable. He needs someone to finish the job or else he should try to finish much early. Not a power hitter. You should be good enough to edge the ball. I can't understand how he misses the ball completely .

This is why we need players like Virat, Raina, or Rohit who s got the attitude and aggression for LOI cricket. I am afraid Rahane is just too sweet in his approach.
