ravsdh Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 What is FSK?? I am pretty sure...BCCI will host atleast 1 test in Nagpur...& another in Ahmedabad/Mohali/Bangalore (although I dont mind Bangalore since they generally produce decent Test wicket). If it was me...I will stick with our traditional Test grounds...& have the test at Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai & Kanpur/Delhi. Feroz Shah Kotla- Delhi. Mohali is a big no no Also, i think we need to be grounded. Yes eng are a better test side, and remember if it wasnt for sachin and veeru, they would have beaten us in chennai on the last tour and won the series 1-0, mohali is plagued by bad light throughout. so we need to not get too cocky. also it is in the indian winter so it wont be oppressively hot, unless it is in chennai. eden gardens is a must- its a very intimidating atmosphere, cauldron like. however the point about swanns drift is valid- its the same reason warne failed in india. i think we will win, but it obv wont be 4-0. probably 2-0 england are better but if we prepare tracks as india friendly as eng did to their advantage this summer, eng will not win a test, that much is for sure.
BeautifulGame Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Dont worry Chennai will definitely host a test now that Srinivasan is the BCCI president :csk: Just like Nagpur hosted every other series when Sassank Manohar was the president:giggle:
Manny_Pacquiao Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 its a bit of a stretch to suggest india would do well to avoid losing. the test team isn't in great shape but england simply arent equipped to win in india. if india want to maximise their chances of victory, they should exploit this massive weakness that england have. south afrika make no bones about producing the fast bowler's equivalent of a square turner whenever india tours. that wicket in durban was a classic example. maximising your chances of victory by making favourable pitches is a tactic that has been used by every single team at some point.
Vijay.Sharma Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Start at Kolkata, next at Chennai, next at Mumbai, and last at Bangalore. Let's repeat 93 and add one more to it
Stuge Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 ICC ki maaa ki ***** if they don't allow us to lay spinning track for ingerland .
CG Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Dhoni at press conference we should not be carried away after 5-0 , our fast bowling is still a concern .Pur fast bowlers should have bowled better in the first 10 overs ,If you have pace only you will not succesful Dhoni is seriously after aaron ,aaron did not even bowl during the first 10 overs and it was v.k and p.k but they are dhoni's boys

CG Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 That was hysterical:hysterical: Aaron was India's most successful pacer in both the ODIs and he says pace alone is not enough. and he said same about,P.k has another mediocore series averaging 45 but there is no talk about his buddy by his captain only praises and he goes on to say look at p.k who does so well even though he does not have pace.
ganeshran Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 OP needs to separate Tests and ODIs. We have paid them back for the ODI series soot samet, but Tests will come up next year

Trichromatic Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Time to move on. India can never take revenge of the what happened this summer. No series win erase the loss India suffered in England. So, just enjoy the future successes and forget about results of England tour.
ravsdh Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 happy to see chennai every series but it does actually help seamers historically. the days of CSK have probably seen the end of that though

Trichromatic Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Why not :dontknow: Because England will never reach that level where India was at the start of the series. Or I should say England won't be hyped like India. India had defeated England at home and away previously. India is WC winner and test # 1. With it's great batting line-up, India was expected to win or at least draw the series. England won't come to India as WC champions, test rank 1. They would not be expected to win series in India because of their poor record in India. What happened to India never happened to any team before. But if India defeats England at home, it won't be a big surprise. How can India take ensure that England get similar humiliation? India will have to do something extraordinary.
saneindian Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Would things have changed if MSD had said "Look we have got our beasts in the form of Umesh and Varun. Opponents beware, our bowlers are going to kill you soon with their pace"?

saneindian Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Eden, Kotla, Wankhede, Chennai these should be the 4 venues. Let the practice games be held at Hyderabad and Mohali against weaker sides.
