Blue Panther Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Tendulkar is a great player, but he is not a succesfull captain. Some of his decisions like sending bhajji 1 down was kind of weird. My dad told me that he use to send srinath 1 down and he used him as a pinch hitter. :haha:

Srinath did score a 50 or 2 as well. And Mongia did a decent job in the desert storm innings. It was simply a lack of availabality IMO.

Jadeja was good but was primarily a middle order bat and Robin Singh could only sweep six balls on leg side.

Srinath did make a fifty at 1 down IIRC, but not too much more.

Sehwag, dhoni uv and raina are not pinch hitters, are they? i am asking why use bowlers as pinch hitters,? He sent bhajji 1 down when the likes of pollard, symond, rayudu were waiting to bat. Thats when i my dad told me that he sent the likes of srinath one down when they were playing ODIs. My dad didn't liked it either.

And Ajay Jadeja was the only hope we had when it came to power hitting.
