Who after Zaheer

Zaheer has been a world class bowler for India, very intelligent, at the peak of his powers, plans out good batsmen. He has carried the responsibility of being India's spearhead on his broad shoulders, India has been winning test's and series away from home with him leading our attack, he does have few years left in him. Who will be the next left hand pacer for India, RP, P Parmeswaram, Pawan Suyal, P Sangwan, wild card Anwar Ahmed. Pawan Suyal has a good action , not too tall , haven't seen what he can do with the ball or how fast he is. Irfan Pathan lost in wilderness, will he ever get his mojo back. RP I don't have much faith in, who knows he could surprise us. P Sangwan is fit but not fast maybe. Parmeswarm looks better then most out here. Shrikant Wagh also M fast has some batting skills. Anwar Ahmed looks most promising, very tall, fast medium at least, very good action , aggressive , provided he stays fit, this guy is worth a look. My choice is Anwar Ahmed, Pawan Suyal, P Parmeswaram.I firmly believe Anwar Ahmed might be the answer.

J Unadkat is shaping up well. Speed wise only Suyal is the quickest of the lot. Sangwan : This lad has lot of potential IMO, but somehow he doesnt realize it i guess. If i were in his shoes, i would not be flirting around with girls, as i've read he does, i would be sharpening my all round skills, specially my bowling, to bowl a bit quicker, which would put me in the category of bowlers of International Standards. He is not that low on speed, when started was around 125kmph, nowdays his speed is between 127-136kmph( decent, nothing special). If he can raise it by 5kmph also that would give him lot of oppurtunities to represent the country, as he is one bowler who is clever and out thinks the batsman. Frankly i do not have hopes from Parmeswarm, Srikant Wagh, IF, RP. Anwar ahmed looks good, but still have to see him on live TV to judge, he doesnt have the stats in his favor, already 25+ and the videos that we all saw, are not conclusive of speed, he could very well turn out to the opposite of what we all are believing him to be. So my bucks are on Sangwan, Unadkat, Suyal( all young and are impressive in the domestic circuit with exposure to Intenational standards too). Stop gap arrangement ( Aravind ).

Unadkat is one guy I am not impressed at all, Suyal yes, Sangwan , Wagh, both similar pace wise and have a bit of batting skills. We differ on our opinion on Parmeswaram , I think he has the potential, Anwar Ahmed to me seems a natural bowler, players like him do not need too much time to graduate to the next level, about 6 4" to 6 5" I guess, high arm, fast mediumish, seems to bowl good areas, has bounce,a wild card yes, looks a better bowler then all others here , except Suyal.

Has to be Ishant Sharma. Sreesanth could have been an able successor but is far too eccentric to have a consistent 2-3 years at the top. Justy for comparison after 38 tests Zaheer had 102 wickets@38, Ishant has 123@35. No reason why Ishant cannot become the spearhead. For the next 12-18 months, should not play ODIs and be focussing only on test cricket.

Irfan also has 100 wickets after 30 tests. ut yes, in WI, Ishant did show signs of being able to take the mantle. Let's hope atleast he does not disappoint.

Ishant is the second best bowler after Zaheer sure, I am more focussed on left handers.

Unadkat is the worst of all......so much hype around him.....he doesn;'t have the body for a pace bowler....lean, thin and very injury prone. .....no swing, no pace and not at all international standards...... When i first saw him in U19 in new zealand, netravalkar seems to be much much better bowler and surprised that he was never graduated to next level and this guy somehow started playing ranji and in no time played india A and to my utter dis-believe actually represented India in test matches... I think money talks in india....

Lol unadkat...didn't we see him already :vroam:
He played one test where the whole bowling attack was bowling rubbish.Even the much more experienced Ishant bowled worse in the same series. We shouldnt judge how Unadkat will develop based on that test. He is still young and plenty of time to develop.Just becauuse he was selected when he wasnt ready doesnt he will never develop into quality bowler in future.

I love the way you list lots of random names in all your posts McCricket :isalute:
This is a compilation of left handed bowlers in domestic cricket who have some potential, not random names as such.U will hear about Pawan Suyal , P Parmeswaram , Anwar Ahmed this season , watch em.

I think Zaheer has 3 years atleast of cricket left in him, with him gone we will loose a spearhead and one of the best left handed bowlers , selectors need to play him for important tours and keep him away from t20's and useless ODI series.

Unadkat is the most promising of the lot imo
J Unadkat I clearly remember was the fastest Indian bowler in that U 19 World Cup. He was bowling around 135. You can confirm it from anyone. But instead of going upwards, he has come down remarkably. Only bowling at around 125. Ridiculous

Does anyone knows how tall is Pawan Suyal and Rahul Shukla? How fast Pawan Suyal is? Any info' date=' pic or vid of him[/quote'] Pawan Suyal is not tall, he looked stocky to me, Rahul shukla might be taller, but not like Ishant Sharma

Ishant sharma is only bowler after Zaheer Khan who can handle India bowling Power. Irfan Pathan is also good bowler but he is not enough powerful as a opening bowler.
