The chap had so much talent and at the start of his intl career he was actually bowling around 140 kph with swing. Instead of improving he actually regressed and Indian board and management needs to figure out what went wrong as he looked like he belonged on the intl scene.

And not giving too many interviews and playing the victim would help too.

There must definitely be something this fella is doing waaaaaaaaay better than other trundlers to be getting this kind of results. If we really want to keep 1 quota spot for a trundler then plz let's give this guy another shot before he reaches the ripe old age of 30. IK >>>>>> VK at this point. Bowling wise he is pretty close to PK's ability when he gets that banana swing but his batting and fielding is superior to PK as well.

The pitches are also a reason IMO. So many teams are getting bundled out for cheap scores.

Remember his hattrick? Fastest delivery was 127 kph. He's all about his swing, not pace.

And if he's better batsmen than how he's bowling now, then it just gets better :P

Texan Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 Pathan should have been on the trip to Australia ahead of Mithun. Mithun neither has pace nor swing. He just keeps angling the ball in at a gentle medium pace. He can't bat as well as Irfan either. Irfan would have been the ideal replacement for Praveen (swing bowler for swing bowler). His batting is a bonus. And he had performed decently on the last tour to Aus
Ultimate_Game Posted November 30, 2011 Posted November 30, 2011 If Irfan is picking wkts in domestic cricket I would pick him ahead of Mithun for the Aussie tour. He has been there before and handles pressure well, and is a pretty decent bat down the order to boot.

No matter how many cracks he have, he will not be the real material. He always makes cracks and come backs but just to be dropped again. Remember how many times he has already made come backs even before this if it happens. If his basics are weak and wrong, how and why he will stay up for long. last Aus tour, NZ tour..all come backs but for being dropped.
