maniac Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 In recent times there are so many sub-standard copies of foreign films in India but there are a few copies which I thought were entertaining in their Bollywood avatar as well By the way Hollywood copies a lot from foregin films as well so there is nothing wrong in being a little inspired as long as it is told in an entertaining way to suit nativity. Here is a list of some of the movies I think were entertaining Humraaz- Perfect murder but very entertaining movie Zinda- Old Boy(not Hollywood but still a very famous movie)-I never heard of Oldboy when I saw this but i liked it Kaante- Reservoir dogs-Copy but slickly made I will add some more when I can think of them
maniac Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Ghajini(Hindi and Tamil)-Momento-Another one I really liked even though it was an insult to the original. 1.Try to post movies that you have seen both versions of and still enjoyed it in Hindi For Eg;There was this Shahid Kapoor movie which tried to copy from snatch but ended up insulting the original and also the art of filmaking 2.Try not to make it a thread about just bollywood movies that were copied...For eg;Baazigar was copied from some random English movie but never saw the original.
maniac Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 http://www.akhilesh.in/life/india/bollywoodinspirations.php Here is actually a good list
DomainK Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Ek Ruka Hua Faisla Seen both movies and both are excellent movies. Though I thought India got rid of Jury trials long back.
achilles Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Ek Ruka Hua Faisla Brilliant film. They showed it to us to understand our syllabus better.
akshayxyz Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 The ones I have seen, where I found the copy/remake/inspired enjoyable. Zinda - oldboy... Zinda did good justice to the original. Ek Ajnabee - Man on Fire - wasn't too bad. Murder - Unfaitful - was decent. 3 Deewarein - inspired from Shawshank dedemption...was decent Sarkar, Sarkar Raj - inspired by Godfather - were good. BhejaFry - remake of French movie Le Dîner de Cons.--- Bheja fry was too good, perhaps the best remake? Dasvidaniyan - remake of Bucket List.. not bad.
Pagalpanti Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Bheja Fry, Partner, Sarkar, Koi Mil Gaya... decent remakes.
