No parachute. Parachute means you will hit the tower when there is a sudden wind gust and kill yourself.
so how do you land safely? In the pictures, the people jumping off have no string or rope..

No, they advertise it as a "cable controlled BASE Jump". Thats why I am saying its a sanitized version of the real thing. The real one is too dangerous for the everyday person with no training.

The "real" version is outright banned in many countries. If you are caught, you will probably do time for trespassing/endangering lives.

I agree. And there is a new thing called wingsuit jumping (like what you saw in transformers 3) that is even more crazy. I4U6T_BB1N8

Legal only for one day. They have one special day every year where the "real" jump can be done legally.

Sree, how does this compare to sky diving ? done that twice 4m 14k feet and considering this one as well as bungee jumping, i think the Stratosphere @ Vegas offers something similar as well.

Psychologically speaking (could be totally wrong), the only scary part about sky diving is the first few seconds when your brain is trying to come to terms with no ground beneath your feet (and the adrenaline hasn't kicked in it). Once the adrenaline kicks in, its happy sailing. Bungee jump duration isn't long enough for the adrenaline to take full effect. Also with bungee jumping (as well as base jumping) you have a reference point with respect to drop point and a cliff (or a tower in this case) which totally fvcks with the mind (with sky diving reference point is the horizon)

Wow. The only thing I've done is Para-sailing which is child's play when compared to these, and even that has fatalities from what I have read.
