Ashwin got more variations and county cricket refers to english players and not even their intl. players and we all know how good english players are against spin... 2 whitewashes in india and once lost by a margin of 5-1.... all games lost because they cant play spin... so we better not judge ojha by that

Check Bhajji's record in Australia. He averages 70+ there that too when he was in a decent touch. I don't want him there with Ashwin , as both are off spinners. Bhajji should concentrate and work hard in FC to get his form back.

Zaheer, Ishant, PK, Umesh, and Aaron is the defacto pace brigade for australia. UY and VA will surely make the cut since 1) Munaf is injured, and 2) Both these guys recently performed well in their odi opportunities and also in the EPT played in Australia. I doubt either uy or aaron will play in the XI since zak, ishant, and pk will be preferred owing to their experience. The only way for UY is if he runs through the windies in the ongoing test or the final test AND performs strongly in the 2 warm up matches in Aus.

Zak, PK, Ishant - confirmed selection. Going by selectors track record in last 2 series, they're willing to try new guys and certainly not persisting with unfit and inconsistent trundlers like Sree/RP. So Aaron and Yadav should get in.

In the current Pecking order-PK,Zaheer,Ishanth,Varun and Umesh should be our top 5 It is funny how people include names out of obscurity based on the assumed mythical phaaast bowling powers of some younger talent(No disrespect) but international experience matters in overseas conditions. We just can't walk in with 3 untested rookies just because they can bowl 140+ And in case Zaheer is injured Sreeshanth....Overseas tour and that too Aus there has to be a fine line between Experience and young talent.If we replace Zaheer with a new talent we are done for,we will be left with 2 rookies and 2 Semi-experienced bowlers in Ishanth and PK(Technically a rookie at test level but ODI experience can come in handy). Given a choice between RP,Pathan and Sree---Sree would be the best option

These bowlers can do better than ishant pk aron umesh yadav in australia...but selector wont select them..also mishra can be better choice compared to ojha,harbhajan,ashwin as australian players are poor against leg spin..he wont be selected either...so tough tour ahead..

Even I don't like Sree but he's not a trundler for sure.He's more of a fast-medium bowler.His pace is around 136-138ks & can bowl upto 140-145ks when he's in rhythm. He's quicker than PK & Zak but slower than Ishant,UY & VA.

He is much quicker than PK an ZAk as you say. But I think he can bowl quicker than Ishant. I have seen Santh bowl spells in region of 145k and Ishant when bowling quick maxs out at 138k really. Key is Sree can take wickets and run through sides like wind through grass, unlike Ishant.

What makes his case even worse is how he bragged before the series that he would bowl over 150 kmph and when it was his turn, he looked military medium at best. I have frankly seen enough of this guy. If he couldnt get wickets in England, I dont think he can be effective anywhere else. His performance in the World Cup final also sticks out like a sore thumb. Yes, he bowled some decent spells sometimes in the past but that doesnt warrant endless chances in the test squad despite repeated failures.

When did exactly Sreesanth show he can do against top team consistently.Last i can remember was in 2007 in SA. Sreesanth's bowling ave in last 5 series since his come back against against Sri Lanka. India in Bangladesh 54.00 [yes against Bangladesh!] ( far worse than Ishant) Australia In India 63.50 (Far far worse than Ishant ) Newzealand in India 44.25 (Far worse than Ishant ) India in South Africa 41.77 (slightly better than Ishant) India in England 61.62 (worse than Ishant) He is far more experienced than Ishant yet Ishant has bowled far better than him in every series apart from the SA tour in which Ishant was awful and Sreesanth was average.

Ishant has played regularly for 4 years unlike Sreesanth and has captain support. Even in this game it should have been Aaron replacing Sharma so we would see both Yadav and Aaron. Anyone can achieve what Ishant did if play for 4 years, it is nothing spectacular. Look at how quick Yadav is learning already lol.
