Do you guys think standard of American shows has gone up in last 3-4 years? Last decade (2001-2010) was a decade of Reality shows but now all theses thrillers/drama seems really good...
Yes, indeed, there is marked improvement. If the latest seasons of some of the American Shows like The Good Wife, Suits, The Mentalist etc, you will see vast improvement is writing, acting, direction, cinematography etc taking the whole game to a whole new level and a very clear increase in production value indicating higher budget than the previous seasons.

Just started watching The Good Wife. Can't stop. Archie Panjabi is delicious :woot:
Its a very well written and acted show... Chicago political and judicial systems at work. One twist in last season was damn good... No one saw that coming and it was surprise to one and all, and was a very well kept secret.

Saw episodes 11-16 of Suits S3 and episodes 1-10 of S4. Its getting easier and easier to predict what will happen next in that show. Their efforts to make the storyline more complex are looking too deliberate and desperate to me. Also saw the first 6 episodes of The Good Wife season 1 - I really fail to see the hype around that show. Its just like any other legal show (with the added story about the jailed state attorney). So, is it much different further ahead or its just legal cases one after the other in each episode?

It is one legal case after another with the back story of the main characters providing continuity.

Best show IMO, me and my wife did a 2 week marathon. Interesting legal cases along with a serial story line, great cast ( even recurring ones got awards), good acting phenomenal directing and writing. Stay invested till last season some utter gems in there in season 5.

Watched both the seasons of the newsroom. Liked it. The third and the final season starts in November. I have also been watching Boardwalk Empire for the last couple of years. The first two seasons were brilliant and then the show kind of lost its track. But I still like the classic feel. The final season started two weeks ago.

Among the actors with Indian descent he is the most likable for me.
He is not typecast as a nerdy, socially dim witted yet brilliant Indian. So looks a bit appealing, but i suppose the overarching generalization about Indians in the west remains exactly that and not this guy.
