Yes Varun should play test 3, but with two out and out quicks I think there may be an issue with how many overs they can bowl. Ideally it should be short quick bursts. Two spinners should i guess allow that to happen. Perhaps Rahul Sharma can play too. However Umesh should not play the ODIs, given the Aus tour starts a week after the WI ODIs end. He will be playing first test in Aus all being well and the best way I think to avoid repeating past mistakes with pacemen is to allow them to focus on tests and ODIs that actually matter, not to mention not too much cricket in a short space of time. Especially the way these guys bowl it takes a toll on their bodies im sure. Vinay, Aravind can play ODIs, maybe someone like Nechim Ahmed too.

The squad that plays ODIs has to be pretty much 2nd string, or at least not include most players who are likely to play test 1 in Aus. It will still feature guys like Virat, Raina, Yuvraj so will be strong enough to beat WI at home.

Yadav is much more experienced in FC + has better stats. Come to think of it, one can't explain why India played Unadkat ahead of Yadav at Centurion. :haha:

Well done Yadav, what bowling. If it was just Ishant and another ordinary pacer, we would have never got through the middle and lower order. This guy outbowling a 4 year old veteran, he gets the ball to skid on at pace which makes him dangerous. Shame Aaron didn't bowl with Yadav in this match. As I said before 2nd test we should have done this, Ishant would only pick up 2-3 wickets and be mediocre most times which he was, there was nothing to gain from bowling Ishant!

Varun shud play as playing ishant( his ankle is suspect) is not required ..india has already won the series...i wud say india shud rest ashwin and Ishant and play rahul and Varun. UV shud also be replaced by Kohli and possibly Rahane shud also get a chance possibly by resting Sehwag or VVS> Rahane is such a Good Batsmen that i can bet that he will suceed in the TEST against windies. Rahane is a better test batsmen than even Kohli and way ahead of UV when it comes to test batting is concerned. SO Rahane and Kohli shud be played and tested..i will not be surprised if both get centuries, both are way ahead of UV and raina as Test batsmen. Varun is as good as Yadav and I feel its just a matter of time VA will also create waves and make all of us proud. So Varun shud also be played..if he is played then I feel TRUNDLERS like VK, PK, Arvind will find it tuf to play test cricket in near future as I bet VA will also Suceed. But there is a dampenning Side ...DHONI seems to be not so fond of VA and also YADAV...Dhoni gives ishant good chance to bowl long spells but does not want Yadav and even varun to bowl more than 3 over spells..thats shocking to say the least. I am happy that yadav suceeded but he cud have not taken so many wickets and then even DUMPED as he was given 24 overs in 2 innings in the test..so less bowling specially when ojha and ashwin bowled 60 to 70 overs.

Yep, should play at Mumbai. Will tour Australia in all likelihood so better to give him some experience rather than suddenly being called upon to make his debut in Australia when there is an injury.

See he always loved Bhajji..now he like ashwin and ojha .. he also like PK...bcos he is a fastish Spinner...he also likes VK..Keeping is very comfortable no hard thudding to the gloves..and real comfortable Stuf...Keeping against fast bowlers some times lead to more finger injuries and his fingers are always injured due to excessive cricket so he avoids pacers unless HE HAS NO CHOICE..... in this test i saw stages when bravo samuels and other batsmen were actually hitting spinners all over but still pacers were not brot on..they were always brot as the last resort when spinners failed miserably, it shud be other way round, spinners shud be brot when fast bowlers r tired and /or when fast bowlers fail. Abroad pitches support PACERS..india lanka have only spin friendly pitches..PAK- NO matches are held because of terror there, so all other countires normally we have pace friendly tracks not spin friendly tracks...thats why we need pacers more not Spinners.

thats One reason why Dhoni fails as a CAPTAIN outside INDIA specially on pacy tracks... ganguly supported PACERS and dhoni supports only spinners. we r lucky that UY got 7 wicekts in 24 overs..that was tremendous bowling ...good that he has kind of got a ticekt to AUSTRALIA..that will be the place wheere he will make a career.

I did notice that too. MS did bowl the spinners too much and as I said yesterday, the pitch was slow so it was easy to read them off the pitch, so Yadav was the key. But Dhoni kept bowling them even when they were being hit and milked for runs over after over.
