Ultimate_Game Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I would rather take series win ove Aus in Aus than the no. 2 test spot.
CSK Fan Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I would rather take series win ove Aus in Aus than the no. 2 test spot. Why does it always have to be either/or? People come up with this stupid thing every time. I woudl rather take an Indian win over Sachin 100. I would rather India win than they score over 400, etc, etc. Who gave the choice? We will take both gladly Does India's chances to win in Aus go down if they become no 1 or something?
ShebbySB Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We are the no.2 Test & ODI side right now :yay::yay::yay::yay::dance::dance::two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:hope to regain the no.1 spot pretty soon:pray:
Cricket Tragic Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 We have a good chance of staying unbeaten for the next 2 years after the Aus tour.
Trichromatic Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 :yay::yay::yay::yay::dance::dance::two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:hope to regain the no.1 spot pretty soon:pray: That will take a year or so.
ShebbySB Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 That will take a year or so. I back Pakistan to beat the poms in the Abu Dhabi in Jan,that'll do us a world of good.If we beat the Aussies in their backyard & Eng lose the test series vs Pak in spinning conditions against quality spinners like Ajmal & Rehman then we'll certainly be no.1........come on India regain the no.1 spot

Dude the post simply states that being ranked no. 2 is off no value if we get our *****es handed to us by Aus later this year. I wonder what's bugging you though coz you surely seem grumpy.

This is a pretty irritating habit, everytime someone announces, or wishes something good for the team, someone will come with a pessimistic view. Almost as if we dont deserve too much good things. What has the Aussie series to do with our number two ranking?

BeautifulGame Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Test rankings are really pointless.Being 1st or 2nd or 7th really doesnt matter.Winning series is the only thing that matters.

It matters only when you are ranked 1 and build a good team (unlike India who hardly created a pool of backup bowlers).

Rankings dont matter in ODI cricket but you play for no.1 ranking in test cricket to decide who is the best side in the world.Rankings matter a lot in test cricket.

Rankings in Tests are exactly as worthless as in ODIs.I didnt see anyone in India exactly cherishing the moment when we became the test no1 against Sri Lanka. Winning trophies and series are are what that give u moments to cherish.Rankings are pointless. Almost everyone remember when we won the test in Adelaide and draw in Australia. But i havent met many that remember in which series we became test no .1. These rankings are just media generated hype and created a false pride. But i dont find anything exciting in these rankings and i havent met many who find it exciting either. What matters is winning series home or away.Rankings tests or ODIs are pointless. Ya i had the same opinion when we were no.1 too.

When you are continously winning trophies and series ,it will show in your ranking as well. Both are interlinked. And as far as the test when we became no.1 is concerned, most of the Indian fans remember that because one of the most brutal innings in test cricket was played in that game.
