"We do play too much cricket and if something had to give my choice would be 50-over cricket, or make it 40-over cricket or something," added Swann, who captained England in their last three Twenty20 internationals.
He sooooo confused:hysterical: what an idiot!

What a bunch of girls some of you guys are. Swann's opinion is HIS opinion, not England's - in fact I distinctly remember Andy Flower stating that England were targeting the next WC! I personally think OD cricket is a bit meh, nothing to do with our success or more often failure in it. There seems to be an attitude here that England fans don't care that much about OD cricket because we are **** at it, no, the game is pretty ****, that's why we don't care that much about it. We are **** at football, but would anyone suggest we don't care about that?

What a stupid corollary. And we are expressing OUR opinions (which apparently makes us girls), that Englad are **** at one day cricket, and infact been **** in tests over the last 20 years, but hey just myi opinion.

Even Australian domestic cricket, or even English domestic cricket as well, they tried the 40 over format in their domestic circuit, but now, they have to come back to 50-over matches, coz of the failure of the 40-over format. The beauty of one day cricket is, it is not overly long and not too short as well like T20 and gives a fair bit of skills representation of all dept either its bowling or batting. IMO, T20 gets over too early

Why is he suggesting 40-over cricket instead? What is the point of that?
Because they play 40 overs in English domestic cricket as 50 overs is too much for the cricket loving English

Well if ECB decides to go with Swann's suggestion and scrap their odi squad, at least we will have another ICC team replacing them (Ireland, Netherlands etc.) and we won't have controversy of associates not being allowed to play in the world cup :giggle:

T20s - eng no.1. should be retained. :hmmm:

 How is money related to the number of wickets he is getting ? As the article mentions Swann is also a TOP Bowler in ODI cricket . Are you saying since tests are not profitable , other teams are not interested in Test cricket and therefore England is successful ?
What I was saying is Swann is just a looser and a shyte bowler then English media and he makes of himself. Bottom line is if he was really any good.. He will be playing IPL... So that table doesnt matter..... Also , Dont bring Pakistani player in the argument. They arent playing IPL for political reason....
