Has Kohli cemented #6 in tests?

With this knock :clap: He was a failure in WI but that can be attributed to nerves in debut series. Now he looks more composed and playing superbly...! I know its just one match , but he deserves a lengthy opportunity as scoring at #6 is not easy. Does this mean Raina, Yuvi have done with their tests career?

Not cemented but now its confirmed that he will be the Number 6 Batsman for the series against Australia instead of Rohit Sharma and from thereon the future depends on how he performs in those matches .

Cemented ? He just played decently in 1 test. He has still not proved that he has temperament or technique to perform consistently in tests. Also he looked very poor in overseas conditions when the ball bounces and seams around a lot more.

Played very well today. Nothing is cemented though. Bishoo was bowling wide outside off at him so he had to go hard on that in case we wanted to win this game , so can't really blame him for today's dismissal.

Performed ok. Real litmus test will be in Aus when the ball is whizzing past his nostrils and his technique will be tested - didn't do much in WI. Expect him to struggle in Aus to be honest.

Temperament issues are definitely there. Out of the blue he acts like an angry man and throws kitchen sink at everything. There is no steady flow in his test knocks like his ODI knocks.

He think's he's all macho, we'll see how he handles it in Aus.

frankly thats how he started in ODIs too. if he is smart, he will learn to build an innings in tests too. played well today for the most part. had a great chance to finish it off which he missed.

:dito: Even Raina out performed him in testing conditions in the West Indies. His performances in Australia will show whether he has genuinely improved.

Had he won the match for side, would have got a run irrespective of how he plays in the Aus series. Now a couple of failures and he may have to make way for Rohit. Also the true test will be in Aus. he had a few technical glitches exposed on the bouncy tracks of WI. Aus will see that technique tested once again.
