yadhav500 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 That Motera pitch against Lanka (1st Test 2009) was as flat. But at least there was some movement on the 1st day.
yadhav500 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Will it be a record? If WI come out to bat tomorrow, will that be the first time a team has batted into the 3rd day of a Test (while batting first)? (Taking into consideration Tests with fully completed first two days)
Trichromatic Posted November 23, 2011 Author Posted November 23, 2011 Didn't India bat bat on 3rd day at Sydney (705-7, sachin 241) India was 650-5 at the end of day 2 IIRC.
saneindian Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 We batted on days 1,2 and parts of day 3 at, Leeds (2002) St. John's (2002) and also at Sydney in 2004.
ganeshran Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Not even close. Not sure about the criteria of completed 2 days. But here are the the maximum number of overs faced by a team batting first. Windies have only faced 181 overs till now
yadhav500 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 OMG that's happened a lot it seems. Thanks.
Karan114 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Didn't India bat bat on 3rd day at Sydney (705-7' date=' sachin 241) India was 650-5 at the end of day 2 IIRC.[/quote'] That's the one that came to my mind immediately too but as ganeshran has shown, its happened a lot of times
zep1706 Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 No the pitch on which SL made 900+ takes the cake, this is not a great deal better too.
bulbul Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 ^ I thought you were asking for a ban on Mumbai for preparing "pattas" :) finally you come up with a Genuine , un biased opinion :hatsoff:
Stuge Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I guess the curator thought, he is suppose to make pitch for 5 day T20 match between india vs west indies :((
Manny_Pacquiao Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 they must have imported this from sri lanka or something. absolutely nothing in it for the bowlers.
Old guy Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 bad yes worst no what made it look so bad were the expectation in hindustan times this was the headline before match mumbai pitches is right... even commentators were shocked after day one i think mohali wicket is good more wickets hsould be like it by no means it is bowler friendly but there is always bounce lil bit movement and we all say how exciting matches can get there(aus vs india)
JeffThommo_fan Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Ian Bishop is a No-Nonsense man. It really takes a good effort to get him praising someone :two_thumbs_up:
skindia Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 my prediction 525 seems to be closer..:giggle:
Stuge Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Collapse imminent. 270 all out :hysterical::hysterical: Just hope India doesn't collapse
coffee_rules Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 pitch prepared for sachin's record :wall:
coffee_rules Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Headingly '02 Ganguly kept India on the 3rd day as well for an hour or so..7 Overs to be precise, when India scored 44 runs and lost 4 more .wkts 584/4 to 628/8. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/current/match/63999.html I guess it has happened a lot of times.
Asim Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 haha u asked about start of Day-3 but there at the top of list 335.2 over means into the last session of Day-4
