achilles Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Guys, we have re-visited the survey artifacts and came to know that there was a big mistake in the result. Please ignore the initial result as it is faulty. The result came out, after having thorough inspection of all the artifacts, is that 'Pune is the best Indian city to live'. Please feel free to call/contact in case of any clarification. Bhramdev Gupta eight nine eight - three nine zero -one 0 0 one Feck you Bengaloooorooo :D
Mariyam Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 ^^^ Pune is not a city by itself. Its just another satrapy in the greater Mumbai empire.
EnterTheVoid Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Snapped this picture this morning. Bangkok, like most Indian cities, is trying to embrace modernity whilst being stuck in the past. Check out the contrast between the high rises in the background and the desnsely packed buildings in the foreground.
achilles Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Pune is not a city by itself. Its just another satrapy in the greater Mumbai empire. Oxford of the East Education Capital of the Country IT Hub Realty Hub You guys come to Pune to live the night life. Your city don't even have a night life :finger: What a logic...for all we know the guy could have be checking about some blore chicks which bambai hardly has:--D Bangalore has Deepika and tanned beauties galore. I'll pick Bambi girls any day of the week.
Mariyam Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 You guys come to Pune to live the night life. Your city don't even have a night life Please. The only semi decent place you have is 1000 Oaks. And that Area 51 thing. The average person at HRC Pune is between 16-19. :D Can you point out a club/lounge where you can enter at 12:30? Even at Oaks, which I like btw, they start sending signals from 12:15 that they're about to shut. :D Ofcourse, for a Puneri, night = 6pm - 10pm. Keeping that in mind, yes you're right. Pune does have a better 'night' life. :two_thumbs_up: But I'll grant you this... Mumbai>>>>Pune>>>>> other cities in India. Bangalore has Deepika and tanned beauties galore. I'll pick Bambi girls any day of the week. Yeh hui na baat :icflove:

punjabi_khota Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Oxford of the East :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Oxford ? without a single college most people can name. :hysterical: More like sabji mandi of education.
ViruRulez Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Oxford ? without a single college most people can name. :hysterical: More like sabji mandi of education. :cantstop::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: LOL. In terms of education I would definitely not say that Bangalore is quality even compared to other Indian cities leave apart Oxford. To be honest, education in Bangalore is more of a business rather than true learning. Even Hyderabad is better than Bangalore in terms of quality education leave apart metros and other states of India.

G_B_ Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 What kind of phoney research is this?? Typical European stuff, once every year they have to release some 'rankings' of cities to feel good about themselves. Fact is, they haven't yet reconciled themselves to the reality that they are irrelevant these days in the general scheme of things. Apart from retarded football games and a few grade B touristy places, they don't have much to offer the world. And Vienna is #1? :hysterical: How can Vienna be #1, they speak German there. its not phoney Mercer a human resources powerhouse. Expats actually get paid extra based on what these reports publish. The industry relies on this. Its also not a survey, (ie they dont ask people they collect hard data) its well researched.

What you're saying maybe true for technical education/medicine. But Pune has ILS law college which is definitely in the top 5 Law schools in India. My mom never leaves any opportunity to brag about it. Pune also has Symbiosis which is a top 10 management institution. Ferguson College is pretty good for Arts. Again constantly in top 10. They also have the who is who of Indian Literature as visiting/ full time faculty. After my 10th, I'd done a 2 month course on creative writing from there. And can vouch for the fact that they are pretty good at their stuff. In Mumbai only JJ is better and Xaviers and Sophias are at par. Ofcourse, that still doesn't change the fact that Pune plays its IPL games in Mumbai (New Bombay). So much for being the best city.:haha:
Vijay.Sharma Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Take me down to the Paradise City where the grass is green and the girls are pretty O won't you please take me home....to Bangalore!!!!!!!!!! Edit - This isn't very surprising at least when it comes to knowledge professionals. Back in 2001 I had joined GE and was working at the John F Welch Tech Center which is GE's largest RnD establishment outside the US. It had all labs - plastics, chemicals, materials, bio medicals, software, etc. I think it was established just around 98-99. Before GE decided which Indian city to establish the RnD center they did a survey in all the places from where they would recruit potential employees. This included all the big time science institutes of India like IISc, Baba Atomic Research Institute, etc, and the IITs, RECs, etc. They asked the question - If you had to relocate in order to take up a job which among the following cities would you rather relocate to? (so if you are already from Blore you had to pick another city). They had given some 10-15 major cities as options. Around 83% voted for Paradise City from all over India! That's why the JFWTC was established in Bangalore.
