coffee_rules Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Through IVF-Surrogacy .. Good for them and all, but they could have adopted .. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aamir Khan-Kiran Rao blessed with baby boy Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are blessed with a baby boy. And if you are surprised how you never heard of it earlier, it is because the child was born through IVF to a surrogate mother. The delivery happened on December 1 at a private clinic in Mumbai. Aamir Khan confirmed that they went for IVF-surrogacy due to medical complications. Expectedly both Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao are elated to have the baby. The news took the whole industry by surprise, especially because Kiran had been spotted at different events without the least hint of a baby bump. But now, the reason is clear, as Aamir and Kiran announced the latest arrival in their family with a press statement. "It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty. Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well. We are humbled by the greatness of God, the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy. We seek your good wishes and blessings for our child," said the statement from the couple. Aamir Khan has two kids from his first wife, Reena Dutta - a son named Junaid and a daughter named Ira. Aamir Khan will be next seen in the film Talaash alongside Rani Mukherji and Kareena Kapoor. Also he will be doing a TV show next year.
ViruRulez Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Good on them but hope he also takes care of the children from his earlier marriage. Maybe he is doing as both his previous wife and children at a lot of Aamir's parties etc.

coffee_rules Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 Dont think so..After Sperm and egg are conceived' date=' it might have been transferred to surrogate mother's womb..Not sure though[/quote'] Yes, sperm and eggs are fertilized in egg for 3-5 days, embroy is then transferred into the surrogate womb.
Lurker Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Through IVF-Surrogacy .. Good for them and all, but they could have adopted .. Come on now Coffee saab, what Aamir did would be typical of most couples. Given a choice if there is any chance, how so limited, a couple can have a kid they will take that route ahead of adoption. Kudos on Aamir and his wife to be open about the medical difficulties. Should give hope to a lot of couples out there, specially since these days men and women are often marrying late thanks to career obligations.

I know atleast 3 couples who have stopped having kids after their first one and adopted a girl child (in India). Adoption has not caught up in India as much as it has in the west. A well - to - do couple like them who already have had kids could have gone for adoption. Sushmita Sen and some other single ladies have adopted in the industry. But, I guess, this is highly subjective, to each his own. It was only a wish on my part. Not judging or anything.
