Should Gambhir be replaced by Rahane/Mukund for the Aus tests?

He has been out of form since that wonderful 97 in the WC final. Maybe we can give a chance to Rahane in the practice matches, and if he does well he can be given a chance in the Playing XI in the Boxing Day Test. Mukund is not in the 16-man squad but maybe if Gambhir's bad form continues in the ODI series, then Mukund can also be played in the practice matches. What are ur thoughts on this?

Whatever our thoughts, selectors are not gonna replace GG with anyone in the squad for this tour. Maybe after Aus tour they will evaluate his performance.

:WTF:  The last time that we had a "drop Gambhir" thread was during the WC. :cantstop: Absolutely crazy to even think of it at this stage. The guy is a class player and has been unlucky with injuries recently. Yes, he hasn't been at his best but you don't drop a player of his ability so quickly. He can make runs vs the best as he showed in SA.

No already we are taking inexperienced bowling attack ,we don't need more new comers in batting department better to stick with experience and BTW if he don't perform in 2 tests then we should consider his replacement

At least he should be "rested" for the next 2 ODIs and bring in Rahane. Drop Raina and bring in Manoj Tiwary othewise India may end up losing the WI ODI series. That will no good to the team's morale for the Australian tour. Take Gambhir to Australia, but if he fails in the first test also replace him with Rahane. If you can drop Harbhajan on form why not Gambhir. No one should take their place for granted.

Actually if he is yet to recover from that injury in England and still feeling the aftereffects he should be replaced by Mukund but since he is selected I have no reason to second guess the decision and that obviously makes him the automatic choice to open.

No chance. Gambhir and Sehwag are class Test players. Their recent form hasn't been inspiring admittedly (though Veeru did play some important cameos in the Test series) but we have to hope they find it in Australia.

Not for the first two tests atleast maybe if both gambhir ad sehwag fail miserably then we might have to look for other options... hope they find their form and india doesnot have a repeat of what happened in england

Gambhir is a class player. We can't afford to loose him. I am sure he will find his form soon. About Sehwag, if it is just loss of form, I think we can wait till he finds his mojo.

Bewakuf this is a big test series and you want to try out mukund or rahane? They are not fit to lace Gauti's boots. Gauti has some old errors creeping in (weakness outside off and lbw issue) but the Aus series is not the one to drop a big player.

gauti will bounce back therearent any big technical faults just mental thing against big team he improves his game moreover he will like pace and bounce on australian tracks mukun, rahane are the future...i was impressed by mukund even though he didn't made big scores..and rahane in odis looked solid
