Texan Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 im talking normally this waso ne rare occasion he did perform and like i said these conditions suited him what abt any match in india? whole world cup was played in india i rate munaf higher than mithun cos in seaming conditions he can be useful but in india? im not sure : Bowling in India no fast bowler has much impact anyway (unless they're exceptional like McGrath or Steyn). None of the Indian bowlers have turned in any performances where they've taken a truckload of wickets to turn a match. Their job is to restrict the run flow. Munaf does a better job of it than most other bowlers we've tried so far.

Munaf does a better job of it than most other bowlers we've tried so far. well india vs england... strauss was taking them home then zack comes and gets him and bell next over prior that was match turning performance against west indies h got the first wicket after good sstand (i forgot batsmen's name) munaf even with new ball in india does not do much its easy for players to milk him i think he can be good 3rd seamer cos india would want to rotate bowlers but no one should expect him to get vital wickets and its wrong that u said fast bowlers are only there to restrict in india well all good teams have such good bowlers who can even get wickets here

It was just South African's choked and gave catches at cover and point, soft dismissals. At the end, they tried to belt his military mediums to get out of the jail and got caught. He was not looking threatening otherwise.
rkt.india Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Agree completely. Somehow Munaf seems to invite hate from many members probably because of the enormous potential he displayed earlier and subsequent disappointment. He is still a good one-day bowler. Spot on.

Sreesanth, Ishant and Nehra have all been taken to the cleaners. And they haven't even produced wickets. PK is good only if there is help from the wicket. Munaf has been the best of the lot. Not that Munaf is great either. He is better than Sree, Ishant and Nehra for ODIs. His economy rate of below 5 and average of 30 is testament to that.

In ODI's he relied too much on slower ones at death. he will always have my respect for what he did to Pakistan in 96 (amir sohail :hysterical:) and 99 world cups

His economy rate of below 5 and average of 30 is testament to that.[/quote'] but if ithers are bowling bad ..does not automatically make him good sreesanth he is always expensive in odis but before world cup against new zealand (the last 2 odis he played ) he got 8 wickets nehra was struggling even in south africa should ve never been in team its not like sreesanth is not hated.. but is not in team.. even nehra was out after world cup cos of some injury but munaf was still there maybe thats why people are only targeting him now :P and form what i have seen sreesanth is more hated than munaf well leave it..he can be a good 3rd seamer when conditions help but imo he should not get a new ball in india and i dont really hate him he does his job well..and im only telling u why generally people hate him.. nothing more lol

He is an aggressive wicket taker. Very rare. PS I am not diverting thread mods, outsider said I can respond to things about Sree if someone mentions it before me. even Piyush Chawla has them,most dont want him either
